Pats on it early today…. welding the last few items in the out side and on removables… Then the tool mark remover gets started!!!!

This body is nice real nice.. Only really shitty part is that drivers front door….   But in an effort to keep the original door on the car… we are gonna use it… 😎

I really love this stage of car builds.  The bare metal hides nothing.

I didn’t post any pics yesterday….  bummer.. cause I didn’t take any!!  Franz and I have been sharing a camera..  clean shop camera broke.. 8-(   Juan…  we need another camera!!!!    😎  😎  I only say cause I think Juan does work in electronics I think….. 😎

We dotted every I and crossed EVERY T yesterday on the shell…  One by one I went down my mental list on this rig… I leaded up that nose area that got dug out..  I worked all the dings out of the hood and shrank it… fixed a bunch of random dings on the shell also..  We finished the day working on those three pieces that go in the nose… the corner triangle pieces and the horn mount…. Which Pat is actually finishing this morning.. We had to porta power the inner nose apart some to get the bumper brackets through the holes in the body….

I also could not bring myself to use that drivers door…  It was simply f’k’ed up!!!! 😎    We beat the SNOT out of that door.. Pat gave it a hell of a work over!!!   If we were shaving the chrome.. I could possibly bring myself to use it… but not with the chrome..  You can’t have shit for filler around those trim holes or you’ll be gluing clips to the body…. 8-(   anyway… I had Pat get up on the trailer and take a door off of another 59 I have..  It is perfect, no rust anywhere…  So we stripped it and blasted it and hung it on the car….  Fit like a freakin glove.. like it was meant to be!!!  I am happy with all the body parts now!!!!!

We also chalk lined your trim holes..  We hung the doors, got em perfect, and ran a chalk line from front to back.. The front fenders and doors were nice.. but those rear 1/4’s???  two holes on each side were almost a hole out of line… so we welded up those damaged holes, and then the out of line holes.. and drilled holes in perfect alignment!…    Ghia trim is fragile.. 😎

Shits looking great Juan…  Your ghia body is looking stellar!!!!

Spent some time on Friday going over this rig. Grinding backsides of repair areas, welded up a few pin holes, dialed in lips and edges where necessary.

    Body working the roof now.

We will build it if it comes.

I got a trout blue Ghia door…. 😎  Jeff…. Can you share with us how you came up with this mixture… 😎  I am sure you had an OG part to compare it too… Jeff has a few Low lights…  😎   And in that case..  I would guess we just match this and call it correct? 😎

I sanded my ass off yesterday…  I got the whole front clip of he car roughed in… Pat also sanded his ass off with me all day…. and rear is roughed in too… Pat handled the roof on monday…  and I suspect, we will both be sanding for the next day or two until we get it in 1st Poly!!!  I generally don’t take a lot of body work pics..

    Mid day report.

    Still sanding!!!  Hahaha

Looks like JJ will have the front 1/3 and I will have the rear 1/3 of this rig bodyworked today. Then we’ll just have a couple doors to go. Poly by days end tomorrow hopefully.

We will build it if it comes.
