I am obviously gonna fix this trans situation and have the Pamper back dialed in..  I’m sure I’ll be done this weekend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Question is….  Do I keep Towing with the pamper???????   I have proven it wears your axles and fulcrums out as a minimum.  No one makes bus axles.,

Straight axle everything go back to lowered life…. You can buy ALL that shit!!!!!!

let’s hear some opinions!    Start using the dually???? It’s pretty cool🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫.  Sell the pamper to buy a big ass toy hauler?!?!?!!!!!!   🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Straight axle and drop the engine and craddle like the BBOE.  Keep tall tires, no camber and it’ll sit plenty high enough.

Use the Silver Bullet to fund the 58 triple rgb single to be the ultimate ‘anywhere’ rig.  Mild resto on the Pamper, slightly lowered w/ straight axle to be the tow rig of the fleet…..👊

Think you need a trans oil cooler? Make some lines and a low volume pump so it and put oil back into the side fill port and out the bottom? Like if the oil temps were cooler it would prolong the axle/fulcrum wear? A tank with 1 gallon extra oil to cycle.

I get you got weight, but all these hippies that drove them for years and years did they wear em out? Or at 42mph shit wouldn’t??

think the tripple box will take the load on the axles?

I’ve heard of this oil pump cooler trans set up from Justin Campbell..  I was like WOW 🤩   He was telling me how to fix it…  I just wasn’t having it😎😎😎  More fucking shit to go wrong, more shit under my bus?  No thanks..   but now..  shit….  Maybe..  sounds simple enough

Tow with Kombi? Or sell kombi to fund a trailer??

I am worried about the longevity of the tripples

I’d be worried about hitting the lower out point of the trans line too. But a skid plate could cover it.

Toy haulers are all over in prices. Really you just need a rig for 3 times a year for the c11 car. I’d sell you mine if it was big enough to get a full body car in it.

Could it be as easy as just running some synthetic 140 wt gear oil?    And Never exceed 52mph 🤩🤩🤩🤙🏻

Straight axle!!!!! White Lightning ran for a dozen years all over the West Coast before wearing out!!! Keep the Pamper RGB for fun in the Rockies!!! Silver Bullet can be the long distance hauler, you can beef up straight axle and repair it more easily if shit breaks right?!?!?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😃👍

Nope! Don’t run synthetic in VW transmissions. Gears are to soft and need the zinc additives of hypoid II, or III I think. Most synthetics are hypoid IV and don’t have the zinc.

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.

You can buy portal axles for Tacomas and other trucks now, so I think its a good sign the technology is still around, but maybe the gearing is what needs to change?

You know what they say about opinions…. My opinion is you need to slow your axle speed. The faster your diff doing the centrifugal force throws the oil out and starves the fulcrums of oil. Only way to do that is bigger tires, changing the gear reduction, or slowing down….This is why I chose the big nut with the 1.26:1 gear reduction vs the small nut 1.4:1 ratio and why you need that 3.44 you did ring gear to drop your rpm’s. I was running 4.12 ring with .82 4th and the big nut with 215/75-15’s and running about 3600 @70. My trans was perfect before that horrible spring in moab and my stupidness….when torn down,  it had 45k miles on it and my fulcrums still looked pretty damn good and still usable…. I ran standard GL 4 stalube from Napa on that setup…My new trans is same except I went with a .89 4th to help on the hills and trying the Amsoil synthetic that has the zinc and supposedly better …. We’ll see how that is on the next service.
