What a pan I the ass day.. most everything I took apart is junk…. My lower axle bearings would NOT come off.. I had to weld the puller to one side.. the chain got the other side.. fuck! Like it was fused!! Fulcrums looks like shit, axles look like shit. One redux bolt broke off!!! Fuck fuck👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
IRS doesn’t have any of those parts, and rides better.

Do you think the clunk is internal or just the bearings and fulcrums?

I ran a T1 trans with Beetle trailing arms in my Panel and really liked it. I had to lower it a bit due to CV over-extension with T1 CV’s.
The next one is going to be T1 trans with narrowed Bay arms and Bus output flanges/CV’s. It will likely have to be lowered just a bit to cut down in boot wear, but, we’ll see.
I’d consider contacting Brian E about his kits. Apparently he’s working on a stock height conversion. I’d think he has more experience with IRS conversions than most.
Those redux box trans’ were built for getting a fully loaded breadbox up a steep hill with minimal HP. I don’t think that they were set up for the rigors of a stroker motor and long distances, plus they’re loud and drive like shit.plus they’re loud and drive like shit.

Brian E has come up with some nice stuff! That’s guys sharp as a tack! Seems like a lot of people have tried irs and stock height, and it’s tough with type 1 stuff.. I can’t think of anyone right off the bat with stock height it’s that hauls and drives their shit like I do.
