That was a bunch of fun!! Looking forward to the next one!!!

JJ and Audrey were ripping!!! Started 11th had move up to 6th before we lost the lifter bore.
Some of the faster cars thought we probably have run the fastest lap.

We will build it if it comes.

Wow… what a fucking weekend!!!!!!!   I messed up in qualifying REALLY bad… I was soo disappointed in myself after that… and knew I would be lucky to be in the middle of the field…  I was 11’th in a 17 car line up… ok… not tooo bad… They were talking about starting us in lines of 6 wide for the land rush start… so outside 2nd row sounded ok…. but that changed… there really was no land rush start at all this weekend.. Even in the main they ran 2 cars then gapped em, 2 more, gapped em 2 more.. so you were really racing just the guy you qualified next to..

anyway!! SHORT COURSE!!!  LOVE IT!  The Night short course race was the most fun I have had in a class 11… Thats no lie… You should have heard Audrey yelling as we gained momentum and started passing people… I think we were cathing the leaders… but then… about 20 minutes in…. right before the “regroupomg”..  I notice I am loosing power… and I see my oil light flicker a few times…   I hit the main straight away in last place but on the same lap as the leader… I hot the third jump and BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG…. motor blew.. and tranny is making hella noise…  I coast into the hot pits….  damnit.. I finally felt like I was racing… Racing with cars, many of them, banging doors and shit…  Jumps were not unpredictable desert fucking gullies.. they were smooth pin it to win it jumps… 😎    But it was over for me and I coasted into the hot pits…  again… broken before I could finish a race…..  fuck…

Now…. do I go to Crandon Wisconsin on September 1st and Compete on that Legendary Race???   Thats 4 weeks away, I would have to rebuild the entire car, and purchase a new trans and engine before then…  and my race suit is too damn tight! 😎

Can’t believe how hard you guys were sending it over those jumps. I’m sure that was a HUGE adrenaline rush coming up on the leaders. Like a drug addiction, but more expensive. Glad you all had fun!

I’m gonna pump the brakes on my racing program for the year..  I have spent the entire budget twice now…. 😎 😎 😎    You gotta know when to say when….  You gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em…. 😎 😎 😎     Nothing but my big fat head will change from me continuing to race..  And it’s big enough!!!!!!!!

DAMN!!!! What a weekend!!! Isn’t that how the end of every racing weekend sounds??! 😜

The highs and lows man… whoa they are a lot!!

This is THE TRUTH!! The under the lights short course was SO. DAMN. FUN. I was hoopin and hollarin the whole time we were gaining on those guys!!! It was insanely bad ass how fast JJ was driving and catching em and PASSING THEM!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 We were able to pass them in every part of the course – straights, jumps, tight corners – JJ was KILLIN it!!! He never let up!! 🤙🏼 I had a hell of a good time being co-driver –  at one point he thought we were regrouping and I just yelled – “ I don’t know, who cares PIN IT!!!” 🙌🏻😜

I could tell when the engine was starting to struggle though, we were loosing speed and I could smell something too… in short course especially though there’s no pitting- you run it till it breaks!! Several guys ran with flats and shit… a few guys even rolled – just hard enough to get back turned up right and keep fucking going!!!! But those highs and lows man… crazy how fast they come… we were on top of the world!!! Until we weren’t…

It’s always so awesome how everyone there is willing to help out and make us feel like family though- it’s a whole other VW community out there 😎 Dave.Co met us at the gates when we showed up to lead us over to where they and several other class 11s were camping 👍🏻 The Empi and Wilkey guys ended up being right there too and we all sorta spent the weekend hanging out and helping each other out 🤙🏼 Cory from EMPI even offered for us to go to their shop and rebuild a motor after the night race!
Having Franz Pat Riley and Holden there too was so bad ass!!!! It was so cool to have our crew there ready and willing to help out!! you guys ROCK!! Thank you so much!!!

Friday resting and sunset!! This was how JJ slept all weekend 😅 to the hum of a thousand generators Franz and Pat swapped jets and dialed in the car before qualifiers for us Saturday morning 👌🏻
And then helped us beat the car back in place after we slid into a plastic barrier – oops! That slowed us down a lot on our lap… it was pretty damn slick out there!Scott from Pedal Works stopped by to say hi too! 👍🏻

We got to meet some more racing people in person finally too! This is Ryan Rodriguez with his bad ass semi 😎and this is Donny’s car – this was his first race – they got it together just in time 👍🏻😎 and then needed to rebuild the motor and straighten some shit out after qualifiers

We were railing!!!  ALL I can think about is that race and the fatal last lap….  I feel like I have unfinished business out there on the race course…  I want to finish a fucking race so bad….  Pisses me off sooo much that I fucked up qualifying..    You really gotta nail your runs in class 11… it’s a one and done deal.. One lap to look, one lap to qualify, that’s it.. really NO practice time…   No getting used to the track…    and your running against a clock.. no one else really…

It’s killing me…. I wanna race again… and I know I have a bitchen car now….. 😎
