Fender fight
All Good Fellas!!! I know a place that can get it all fixed up!!!!😀👍😀👍😀👍
Well it’s a good thing those little taillights didn’t fall off 😮
First time on the dirt!!
Post Fun-Run and Pre-Race pics… we fuckin RALLIED for our test lap… crushed the sump plate, broke a fox shock, and did some serious denting to the bottom of the pan… the guys at Sletten and Empi came over and insisted we let them help us get a skid plate on there. Thank goodness for that and for them. They helped us a TON. HUGE thank you them!! We wouldn’t have a had a pit crew or half the tools and parts we needed, or any rescue for the race without them. that course was ROUGH. We know now why everyone else was keeping their car fresh for the race. Maybe we could have lasted another lap if it was fresh… after rich Sletten welded a skid plate on for us, we went to tech (what a joke that was) and learned the fan hub had stripped on the fun run too… that almost ended it. That was late the night before and we were all insanely disappointed and thought we may not get to race…Never make somebody a priority who makes you an option.
So much fun seeing this car in action. I’ll let John and Audrey tell you how the race went but suffice to say it was a roller coaster on and off the course. Lots was learned and spirits are high!
the Empi/Sletten guys came in and said no way, we have all the stuff and time to be able to fix it – so they fucking helped us put a new fan and alternator in with about 30 seconds to spare!!! DAMN! What an up and down of emotions we had there 😅 JJ and I got lined up and started 15th in line for Class 11 👌🏻
We completed 1.5/3 Laps. Which was better than other Class 11s… one of the empi guys only made it a few miles of the 30 mile course. We got one flat, around mile 3/4 and we had to clean out the air filter several times… we got nerfed by a class 5 car on the driver side, and apparently rear ended- but we were being thrown around so much anyway we don’t even remember that. Ultimately the starter finished us… we had to keep pushing it to get it started through all that dirt and hills it died, and the car was already beat to shit and the oil light coming on every whoop. Oh yeah it was mostly whoops, and boulders all over the track. Intense doesn’t start to explain it 😳none of the lightweight stuff broke or failed us. We broke another shock on the front in the main race. Oh yeah JJ pulled a bilstein off his bus after he broke the one on the fun run 😅 that one did great!
it was so fun but this course was also sooo intense!!! Wow… crazy!! Huge thanks again to all the Empi and Sletten and Shreddy guys for all the help and pit assistance, tow in and radio borrow/communication. You guys ROCK!! Can’t wait to see you again at the next race!!!
Never make somebody a priority who makes you an option.
Also a huge thank you to Sarah for coming out and helping with mechanical and emotional support!! 😁 thanks to Glenn and his roommate Will (not Willy) for coming out to watch us also!!
heading out of Baker soon, had to add a secondary tow hitch support… 😅 hey brown cloud, could we use the truck next time maybe? 🤞🏻
Never make somebody a priority who makes you an option.
So cool! Hope I can be there for moral support next year!
What an Awesome time!!!!!👍👍👍
Race it. Break it and fix it. Do it again!
What an epic outing. Way to go!
Epic ! Experience and information gained here will serve you well in preparing for the next round. Very glad to see the spirit of helping each other out is strong.
Damn that course does look rough and to take that many racers out. Looks like an awesome weekend with all the smiles! The race damage is “just a flesh wound”.
