The 63 Turkis has some engine problems. It looks like it’s leaking oil from pretty much everything. The oil cooler and main seal for sure…I did a leak-down test before getting too far along. It showed cylinder #3 leaking 70% through the exhaust valve. And a couple other cylinders were not that great either. Its time to freshen it up.
The flapper valve for the pre-heat air is stuck closed on the air filter. Probably not a good thing.
The transaxle is leaking everywhere too. Looks like the shift rod detent plugs for sure. And check out the missing nut on the rubber mount. It came here with a broken clutch…looks to be a failed throw-out bearing.
Cherry original owner Turkis beetle from Texas in for a clutch job. 63k miles. Requested reliability. I noticed the trans is leaking…so I need to figure out a plan…I’ll probably run a leak-down test first to see what kind of shape the engine is in.
I’d like to knock the dents out and polish the paint too. We’ll see.
I’m obsessed with this bug 😍 It’s adorable and in such great shape!
You can’t go wrong by just letting Franz have his way with that little bug.

Dan.. Your stuff is all dialed!!! Come get it… Franz is just pushing your buggy in and out everyday… 😎
Metal looks super solid on that bug
Trans inspection and reseal and a motor rebuild? Or what are you thinking?
That’s a sweet car!
Bottom side is as smooth as a babies bottom.
We will build it if it comes.
I think the baby shit itself.
Yeah, its dirty.
Greg is going for a rebuild on everything. Dents and paint too…should be fun.Set-up for a pressure wash session tomorrow.
That car deserves it! Going to be a great little car.
nice car!!! Parkway stuff is pretty full again…
