Scott you have both, carburetor and injected car? Lucky man😁😁😁😁😁😁
Well…funny you should ask that. I just sold it Sunday. Someone asked me about it last year and I decided to take their offer. I am building one very similar to it now but it will be injected. It’s the only way to go these days. I sure enjoyed my time with it. The new owner will race it in ASA with us as much as he can. I think his girlfriend is going to drive it this year. He has as pro mod car. They live in PA.

www.germanaire.comHey Scott, a fellow PA VW enthusiast? Do you know where he lives in PA? I wouldn’t mind catching up with him once we are past COVID.
Franz, bummer about the alternator. I grilled the guy at Pertronix about there alternators. He told me stories about “his” alternators still running in baja and performance cars that were installed years ago, etc. I doubt the alternator you put in has 30 hours on it so not good that it failed. This is the second alternator to fail (different brand) so I am hoping there isn’t something else going on. Do you need me to get an RMA to return the alternator, it is brand new and is still under warranty?
Thrilled that it is ready to come home. I will start working on getting a transport company lined up. The last two car transports have been less than stellar.
Not sure what happened with the alternator. The light was glowing like before with the other alternator from the first time we fired it up. I figured it was something with the diode or light wiring. So..I checked that stuff over with a fine tooth comb, and all the grounds. Seems like it was a defective unit from the start.
The new cb fuel injection is smooth. No flat spots, stalling, or smoke. Easy to drive. We can go over the gen4 data logging when you get it home. I don’t think you’ll have to adjust anything.
Hey Dan, I’ve always had a good experience with Intercity Lines.
More expensive than someone like Montway, but easily makes up for it in the lack of headache from all their bs.
Willy, thank you for the recommendation. I used them initially for the 57, but they damaged the fender on transporting it back to me. They gave me quite the hassle taking responsibility for the damaged fender. They only caved when they were shown a picture of the 57 going into the trailer at KCW with no fender damage and another picture coming out of the trailer at my home with fender damage. I have tried others since and they have been less than stellar. I will circle back with Intercity Lines, thanks again.
I’m Itching for a test drive😁😁😁😁😁😁😁. When does she head out?
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
Booked with Intercity, thanks Willy. They are a few weeks out before they can pick up the 57. I will keep you posted.
Intercity stopped by this morning. Driver let us know he only has to move it one time before he gets to you. He also needed to know where reverse was.
Safe and sound in the company of a handmade aluminum Cobra replica.
We will build it if it comes.
This must be home by now…. let’s hear about it Dan…😁😁😁😁😁😁
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
C’mon Dan, give us an update!!!😀😀😀
I heard a fender is coming back AGAIN…. from a chip or star or something… ughhhh them show cars are high maintenance! 8-( 8-( Gotta be perfect and 100% all the time.. 😎

Thanks for the reach out. The 57 has been mostly sitting pristine in the garage.
I have had it out a few times, it starts and runs like a dream, mission accomplished on getting it running really well. And Franz tells me the EFI system is still set in a closed loop so not learning or adapting. The big changes in the EFI upgrade are the adjustment for altitude and the cold start circuitry. I am scheduled to get it inspected this upcoming week and hope to cover some miles shortly thereafter. Thanks again for asking…

I have mine set the same way.
