    Back for some changes. Brand new CB fuel injection, with idle air control motor. ..and a bunch of other stuff.

    The forums crashed a couple of years ago, and the original build thread was lost….but we do have the old gallery of pictures.

    Going up one size on the antigravity battery. This thing is seriously light. And has 680cca

    I remember assembling this car and laughing at the thought of the next guy who would have to work on it…..it was me! Damnit!

    So complicated, so many hoses and hardware.

    The titanium exhaust is cool. Like 30 feet of welding on those bends.

    I think this machine has a stage 2 clutch for the big HP…but its hard to drive and shift. I decided to pull the engine to have a look and make the injection install easier.

    Scott put some fancy clutch in his turbo Ghia, saying it engages smoother and gets rid of the chatter at starts in traffic while still being able to handle the dragstrip.  Carbon disc or something.  Want me to get him to chime in here with what he did?

    I have the Ron Lummus Rev 6 with the dual street discs. Not a simple swap but definitely worth it. New flywheel and a mod to the throw out bearing coupler is all it takes. The Ghia drives so easy and still has crazy impressive times on the drag strip. Zero slip too.

    Before you order up that one, I think Scott’s got this…the “street” Rev-6.  They claim the pedal pressure is “lighter than stock” with this setup.

    Mercedes prices. But man is it worth it. They are designed to slip and save your transmission. All of the ASA guys have gone to them and no more broken trannys! Cry once.

    Engine out. It has a Kennedy engineering stage 2 on it now.

    Its up to Dan.  The rev6 street has a lighter pedal feel for sure?

    KEP Stage 1 is $100 pressure plate..but we risk slipping the clutch, and its still pretty stiff. DSCF1115DSCF1119DSCF1117

    I have the same motto as Scott, buy once, cry once.  If Scott and others have had good success, I can get past the price tag so it drives like a “Mercedes.”  I did ask a buddy on the left coast about the Rev 6 and he said to pass.  He has a similar turbo setup as I do and the Rev 6 lasted less than a month in his car before he pulled it.  I don’t know the issues he encountered, but I will ask him.  Battery upgrade looks great!

    I say put a stage one and a 4 puck on it…. 😎  and make sure the clutch tube isn’t trying to flex,, and not too much, if any, bow in the bowden tube.. 😎  maybe a longer arm on the trans??

    I can’t get over that awesome exhaust system!!!!!

    Re-sealing the axle tubes today. It looked like the leak was coming from the seals that were installed dry.

    Transaxle all sealed and re-filled. We’ll see if it leaks now.

    Dan, you said you had a new alternator in your possession… is it a Bosch unit?

    My next steps are to fit the idle air control motor to the back of the fan shroud, plumb some hoses, check the harness lengths, then install the harness into the car.

    Did you see the water/methanol injection from CB Performance? Is that something we need? The ecu has control capabilities…. Even though I’m all about keeping things simple.
