Mesh red interior with red/white panels is correct for 65 and pretty awesome.
Come is awesome!!! Can I help??😘😘
oops! Haha!! Cole is awesome!!!!
We will build it if it comes.
Tonight I got my brakes off the shelf. Got everything sorted and got the backing plates cleaned so they can be powder coated. I need to send my drums out to get soda blasted. They’re painted. Which is no good. Need to be bare aluminum for the right look. I also sent out my trans case to be tumbled. Should be back in a week or 2. I got the gear stacks blown apart a bit as well and ordered some bearings. Hoping I found a NOS pinion gear. We will see if pans out.
I laid out some L595 yesterday, I can vouch for it’s crappy bodywork hiding capabilities 😀
Nice color, would be a good substitute for L345, just a shade more grey.
Looks good Jeff !
you can compare the type 34 nose to the notch nose up top
Cole
I think you mentioned this while camping at South Fork?
Getting a car you can cruise so you don’t need to put all the miles on the beauty (61DD)? Is that the idea here ? Or just for fun ? Either way its great.
Thats kinda my idea with my squarebeater. But Im using the square so I don’t beat up my beat up pick up! Ha
Hey Cole. Seems like some of the DMV offices are requiring a bill of sale along with the titles these days. Let me know if you need one.
Maybe over thanksgiving break.
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
Not that your in. School anymore😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
That paint looks good Jeff!!
alykat, Utah is usually pretty easy when it comes to new titles. I’ll let you know if I get any backlash! Thanks
bubba,
ya, we talked a bit at the campout. I had talked to JJ about hating parking my bus downtown here worrying about it getting slept in or something haha (lots of homeless people in Spokane and my doors don’t really lock on my bus…) and I hate putting a lot of commuting miles on my bus! I’d rather save the miles on road trips. But I hate driving a normal car to work everyday… sucks the soul out of me… so that’s how this whole conversation started! He said well a beetle would be good for all that. Good mpg, not as worried about it getting fucked up, save miles on my bus. That’s when we talked about the 65 at the compound.
JJ,
I was hoping to do it a bit earlier than thanksgiving… just so I don’t have to drive it home in a blizzard. Not that snow has stopped me on that drive before:) haha but it also depends how fast I can get the motor and trans done and finish my dads speedster. I could finish the speedster and haul it back to Utah and then fly to junction from there. Or have someone drop me off. I’ll know better the timeframe as we get a bit closer. Hopefully it all falls into place quickly.
I feel the same way about normal cars Cole…. No bueno.. can’t do it… don’t have to, not gonna!!!!!!!!!!
So maybe in October then? Or later this month…. although… I HAVE to go to Mitch’s BBQ this year…. I missed it last year and gave him a lot of grief about not inviting me last year!!! 😎
Save some money between now and then… Thats going to be an expensive two weeks for ya… But you will have a new sweet ass 65 beetle in the end!!! 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
We’re installing these wheels on the red convertible…thought you like to see them since you’re considering the same 5.5” wheel. 185/70 vredestein are like $150 each.
Ya! I’m actually going to steal the same ones off KB’s speedster since they won’t be able to handle the 2 liter twin plug motor 😁 hahaha I just need to order up some wheels. I’ll bring the rubber with me.
hoping for late October! But we will see… have to get the motor and trans done. As well as finish the speedster before I haul it back to SLC.
