Haven’t posted up about this yet. Because it’s just been planning. No working on it yet. But today I dove in a bit At least on the Spokane section of the project.

JJ hooked me up with a primo project out of the yard when I was in CO a couple weeks ago. Going to be a fun one! Plan is to build the motor and trans up here in WA. Then I’ll ship them down to KCW and I’ll fly in to finish the rest! Then drive it back to WA for its maiden voyage. Sounds like trying to do it in 2 weeks once I get to KCW. 2 week wonder baby!;)  Plan is to paint it back to its original L595 Fontana Grey since the dash is still nice. And it’s a lighter color and won’t show my shitty bodywork as much haha. Motor will be a 1500. Fresh air 40hp tin. 12V alternator. Going to fully go through a core trans I got from the compound as well. New bearings, tumble the case, etc. I have some 356 A drums I will put on and Franz has a hookup on some 356 wheels I’ll put on too. Nico approves of the pan.i pulled out some tin to send out to powder coating today. Also, tore down the trans. The core looks great. Ring and pinion showing basically no wear. Going to be a great starting point. Got it all loaded in the parts washer. I’ll get it all washed tomorrow and then send the case out for tumbling and send the hardware out to be plated. I’m getting super excited! I need to start ordering up other parts and the interior stuff to re cover the seats, new headliner, carpet kit, etc.

 

Goal for this build is reliability and longevity. Thinking I’ll get mid 30’s mpg and will cruise 70mph with this motor and trans setup. Going to be fun!!!

Hey ! I know that car !  I don’t remember if it was still in Oscars name or mine when I sold it to a guy in GJ for a father son project, but I think John got it from him with almost  nothing being done to it.

Cole wanted proof that he paid me in full…. 😎   I was gonna give him the car but thought better about it, thought he should pay something for it… 😎

I am hoping we can do a KCW take over for two weeks and help him knock it out.. Maybe around one of the Holidays coming up????  Have a lot of fun, take lots of pictures and video and post it up….  😎  Sorta like we used to do it.. 😎  Maybe we could even get Bubba  Rusty and Jesse and everyone down to help 😎  Even WILL!!!!!  😎

Anthracite, Porsche wheels. stock height, 356 brakes…  sounds cool… What about interior?  😎

that damn flipper John Jones;) I had to scrape some pennies together. It was a stretch. But I made the purchase happen.

 

alykat, the car is still in your name! I will take the title to the dmv soon. Going to get some 65 plates off of eBay for it.

 

it would be fun to have everyone around. That’s why KCW is so fun. All friends hanging around and getting shit done.

Franz said no anthracite. Haha I’m down for Fontana grey. Maybe anthracite… just worried about the dark color with my shitty bodywork haha.

I don’t know about interior stuff. It’s a lot different then putting a bus interior together. TMI interior in red weave I think? Franz was talking about changing it up a bit. But I might just order something from Wolfsburg west since they stock tmi.
