Started today epoxy sealing safari frames. Paint tomorrow.
Worked my way around the cab, wet sanding with 3000 grit to take off the the massive amount of surface grime, in the visible areas.
Done sanding. Starting to work my way back around buffing.
We will build it if it comes.
what do you think? Looks a little funny now doesn’t it?
I agree. I’ll get’r buffed up.
We will build it if it comes.
Awesome, thank you!
Ryan, I’m not sure what KCW uses, but I buy all my rivet setting and aircraft sheet-metal related tools from a place called The Yardstore. Google it. They sell new and used equipment from the airframe industry at really good prices. An invaluable resource for me.
I was thinking the same (cupped) as far as those solid rivets were concerned then a tapered style rivet set for setting the vent wing rivet. I got a couple extra of each type so I can experiment.
Nothing too fancy here.. The cupped end works nice for forming the solid aluminum rivets used on the vent wing latches.
Sorry to say Bubby, but you flapper is stuck. Would you like it working ?
We will build it if it comes.
Painted safari frames and the touch up areas from nut plate and tab install this morning.
Parts have been arriving to get rig assembled.
We will build it if it comes.
Thank Christ this bus won’t be wearing white sunglasses 🕶 haha
Finished buffing in the cab area… went over all of the door and dog leg edges, door jams, upper rear cab wall, everything overhead, headlight buckets, parcel tray lip, and the dash.
Sanded the roof down also. I’ll get that shined up tomorrow then start on assembly.

These are some nice parts! From a low mile 67 double cab that Buddy has.
Let’s roll this rig over to roosters! And drink beer!!
All work and no play makes JJ a dull boy🤣
Keeping a lid on it😎
