in reply to: Shasta 2020!!!! 20th Anniversary of SST!!! #43178
Looks like its starting where we did on the first trip.
in reply to: Shasta 2020!!!! 20th Anniversary of SST!!! #43046I was really looking forward to going this year. Kind of bummed that I’m not going to make it. My wife has been in the Hospital since Friday. She is doing much better, but won’t be getting out for at least two more days. Have to take care of family first. Shasta will still be there in 2021.
in reply to: Busses By The Bridge 2020 #42788BBB or bust. I think I have every thing in the bus for the trip. 5 am launch.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42787Bought the heater off Amazon. Just look up Chinese diesel heater. Happy buy you like long time.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42744I see you posted at 11:23 that is going above and beyond Pat. Thought you would be doing that today. I was a bit speechless when a saw that you had taken it all apart again.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42725I’ve been fighting a cold for a few days. Hope to come by the shop today. (I will wear a mask) I got pulled over in my truck on my way to the doctor Saturday, something about plates that expired in 17. Then he pointed out that my drivers license expired last October. I have to go take care of that.

This was January 10thin reply to: Parkway projects #42504I know small nut transaxle whine more than big nut on the highway. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in who rebuilds them. The last transaxle was rebuilt drum to drum in January of 2014. Five trips to BBB, couple laps around Colorado, couple trips a year to Moab, 2200 mile lap up the west coast, two Shasta runs, Escalante, Tabeguache, Glade Park, San Rafael Swell off road trips. The thing has seen some hard use. I remember chasing JJ across Glade Park in his Baja. Should have a video of that somewhere. Having to replace the transaxle is better than collecting dust sitting next to the notchback in the garage.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42417Bus was about ready until a few test drives. Upon further inspection it seems that the bearing on the transaxle main shaft is going bad. This would end the trip to BBB for most people. The KCW team is not most people.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42366I ordered up another heater, hope this one will be easier to fit.
The KCW crew has been doing the April Action Car Show every year for awhile. I’m sure the Ottinger’s will welcome us again this April.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42126That is not good. I hope your ok Pat. Not a good way to end the year.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42108The first day of last January’s trip was pretty trying on John and I. Broken crank pulley, then burned out wheel bearing on the rail. John pulling both with his bus. This years trip to BBB hopefully will be less stressful.
in reply to: Parkway projects #42106I thought that clutch felt easier to push.
