Looks like a great adventure JJ.  I bet Cole had a blast. Guess he fixed his broken valve spring? How about you Glen, think you wa nt to play again?  I sure missed going.  We should really try to make this year’s trip to Moab a non highway event.

They flew the driver to Redding.  He suffered a large gash to the head and a cracked hip. He is a little beat up but doing well. A large group of the drivers went to the hospital and checked on him yesterday.

I like the idea of the new speedo with the gas guage built in.

That is a great picture Will. I was super happy with the way my bay window performed on this trip. It had sat in the driveway all year. Hop in and drive to Havasu and back without a problem. That was the most miles I personally have put on the bus.  Thank KCW for the build and maintenance. Doing it right.

I was really looking forward to going this year. Kind of bummed that I’m not going to make it. My wife has been in the Hospital since Friday.  She is doing much better, but won’t be getting out for at least two more days. Have to take care of family first. Shasta will still be there in 2021.

I’ve been fighting a cold for a few days. Hope to come by the shop today. (I will wear a mask) I got pulled over in my truck on my way to the doctor Saturday,  something about plates that expired in 17. Then he pointed out that my drivers license expired last October. I have to go take care of that.

I know small nut transaxle whine more than big nut on the highway.  It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in who rebuilds them. The last transaxle was rebuilt drum to drum in January of 2014. Five trips to BBB, couple laps around Colorado, couple trips a year to Moab, 2200 mile lap up the west coast, two Shasta runs, Escalante, Tabeguache, Glade Park, San Rafael Swell off road trips.  The thing has seen some hard use. I remember chasing JJ across Glade Park in his Baja. Should have a video of that somewhere. Having to replace the transaxle is better than collecting dust sitting next to the  notchback in the garage.

Bus was about ready until a few test drives. Upon further inspection it seems that the bearing on the transaxle main shaft is going bad. This would end the trip to BBB for most people.  The KCW team is not most people.
