The 67 dlx I purchased in durango from a friend for $2000 in the late 90s. Was super dry and awesome. Custom camp interior. Lots of fun w that one.the photo is from Ophir passthe Baja I bought from a guy north of Mancos for $600 back in 96? The shot was taken on Bolam pass
in reply to: Robert’s ‘66 13 Window Standard #81652those seats look so good ! stoked for you Robert
in reply to: Fucking Bubba!!!! #81651Hell yea John !
it will happen someday. Just let me know!
I had a book shelf fall off my wall the other day (poor installation on my part) and a bunch of old photos that were tucked into the inner cover of a vw manual exposed themselves
top left. Circa 911965 standard I purchased for $150 from some local hippy I knew. He abandoned it up on missionary ridge during a camp out. Couldn’t get it back up the steep hill out of the camp spot!
haahahahaha
my two friends and I hot wired it and made a few mad try’s at the hill and were able to get it out and home. I drove that bus for years. My first split.
drove it from Durango through downtown Chicago to upstate New York, and down to jersey and finally the outer banks of NC. chasing a girl (of course). 1993.Lived out there for a summer and drove all the way back and used it as my daily driver for a while up in Nederland. I remember having a Marshall half stack amplifier and head unit, at least 3 guitars and an early 70s fender Rhodes electric piano on the trip back out to Co
ie: heavy load !I was harassed by cops the entire time ! Everywhere. A rolling freak show
the photo is showing its days of rest parked at my friends cabin up Lime Creek.
the blue 65 deluxe I purchase for $75 (not running) outside of Nederland. Had a great time w that one. Was dry. Shown here camping outside of telluride w my dog Chama. She was a sweetie
i sold the deluxe to a college kid for $700 who was planning on living in the bus and keeping his money for housing that his parents sent him ! Hahahahhahahaha fucking college kids. I wonder if he even made it home w that thing. He had no idea of a title transfer and almost left without it
i Purchased the 65 DC probably in 92-5? for $285. That one was fun ! OG red upholstery. Sat in some guys field in hermosa for years. Never moved. I got it home and stuffed an engine in and had it running that afternoon. So much fun w that. that one ended up going out to JAD machine for many years before I was able to pry in back from him. but thats another story..
and the 1970 tin top camper I purchase in 88-1989 for $1600. Bought it off an older couple. (I still have the front window curtain the women made for that bus. I use it all the time). I was just 19.Full camp interior. A great vehicle to have when you are young, living w the parents and your girlfriend is living w hers! Drove it for years until my friend hit an elk outside of parachute Co.
