Super cool story!! I love how every VW has a story… 😎
Another page in the story just washed out of the drivers door.
Friday, Riley and I unloaded and disassembled most everything. Then we spent the rest of the day using a needle scaler to get the solid as concrete rat crap/piss substance off the cargo floor.
Power washing this morning.
We will build it if it comes.
Hacienda limpia!
Here are some photos of the insurance from the same year 1964. Can see both 58 busses listed and a bunch of other cool cars I’d kill to have.
If you guys have a bad smell after cleaning the rodent poop up, you can use Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer. I had a ton of mice nests in my bus. After cleaning it out and hitting it with water, it activated the smell. The Urine Destroyer saved me from having to repaint the interior.
As Audrey said. Love the stories that come along with all these busses!! Makes me smile, and gives the project personality instead of just another pressed bumper panel😁😁😁😁
looks like we need to cut the metal for the back out of the 3/4 bus outback… the project that keeps on giving.. would never be cut up today!! No way! It was a nice bus! The metal you supplied was torched and lips removed. Although they did do a good job cutting it out😁👍🏻👍🏻
Never make someone a priority, that makes You and Option. 🤔🤔🤔🥲

I’d hope so, they were sheet metal workers!
Going to order some metal this morning. Those piece are expensive A/F.
Not sure what 3/4 you are referring to, JJ, enlighten me if you would; My top priority is that welding/ replacement needed on the torsion spring plate area because it ain’t goin anywhere in its current state lol! Then luggage tray, then bulkhead.

Go for it Franz, ive exhausted my samba search for an og bulkhead. There’s one around the corner from me same year and color!… but the guy thinks the bus is worth restoring (its not). So go ahead and order or I can order and have it shipped to you, lmk.
You may as well order that metal from CIP1 yourself. No sense in pass-through money.
3/4 bus is a donor we’ve been cutting metal out of for years. It has the luggage shelf….but needs the spare tire hole(walk-thru) patched.
Started as a 3/4 bus. Only about a 1/4 bus now.
Riley will be cutting out the donor section tomorrow.
We will build it if it comes.
