OG Bahama blue built in 63 with all the early features.
Matching number transaxle and engine both functioning perfectly. No smoke, good compression, no leaks. Original tar board, and super nice original 1200cc all tuned up and stuff. Runs great year-round. 6 volt
4″ narrowed beam. dropped spindles, disc brakes front, re-drilled 5/130 drums rear. New axle boots, axles seals, brakes, clutch cable, master cylinder, brake hoses, king pins, link pins, shocks, ect. when I built it up a couple years ago.
Empi 4.5″ and 5.5″ detailed chrome fuchs with custom milled slots on the end of the spokes. 125/80 front tires, and 205/70 rear tires are in fair shape. The chrome on the wheels has some small corrosion pits in the very bottom of the lip. (not too visible)….and I barely curb rashed the front driver.
Nice original headliner, door panels, carpet and rubber mats. The front seats have been recovered and the rear seat is ratty. Seat belts installed.
The body has obviously been repainted, and the red paint has seen better days…but has retained all its original bahama blue body parts fenders, hood, and decklid. This car was sold new at the L.H. Strong dealer in Salt Lake City, and comes with the license plate, and dealer frame from the first owner. It does have rust from driving on snow and salt, I have included pictures of the heater channels. Its not falling apart…but not a pretty either. The pan is solid.

Anyone?? This is a great deal for a ready driver… turnkey… #franzbuilt
Threw it up on my Instagram and Facebook page – hopefully you get a bite like the lowlight 🙏🏻🤙🏻
Sweet deal! Wish I had more cash flow right now as I want to find an earlier beetle. I will send anyone looking for a bug your way.
Thanks Mark.
No takers yet.
I thought I priced it cheap for a quick sell.
I’m surprised you still have it at that price. Lots of people out there dreaming of owning a vintage VW; this one is cheap and needs nothing. Flick of the key and drive away.
$5000?
I could also deliver it to the Utah Classic show in Salt Lake on the 14th.
Any takers?
I give up…nobody want this? Giving it away for $5k
Pretty crazy no one is biting on this. Maybe casting a bigger net on social media or samba?
Yep, listed on thesamba and craigslist, denver, salt lake, las vegas.
Maybe I need to try ebay?
^^^ The SLC TV station??? Lol!
We will build it if it comes.
KSL classifieds is all people use in Utah! Not as much craigslist there
A friend of mine asked if I knew of any bugs for sale for his bro-in-law and I sent him pics of this one, but I guess he’s looking for something more “stock”. Didn’t you have another one also that for sale or has that one been sold?
