Hey Doug C. we got your rebuilt transaxle back from Painter’s.
Right on!!Β Shoot, didnt even know it had been sent out yet!!Β im gonna shoot for friday afternoon to pick it up if that works for yous guys…..thanks!
Well I’ll admitt, this was my first stroker motor to fit cylinder tins to and man it’s a lot of work and fit up to get this all to fit nicely. Hoping to see some paint on all these tins in the next day or so.
Audrey’s bay came in for some small things. Did an oil change, and fixed an ignition key tumbler that kept popping out, lubed up the sliding door, and I decited I’d fix her moving battery issue. Her battery box has seen better days so the previous owner made a plate to hold up the battery, and well that rusted as well, so I just simply made copy of the plate with a battery hold down welded to it and the whole thing just drops in. It will keep things safe till we get a new battery box installed. I also fixed her battery cables that had taken on a bit of a science project. But she’s good to roll now.
Then after that I worked on a 71 baywindow that’s been family owned since new, and check this out… It has a 912 motor in it. Super cool baywindow. I’ll be installing some new rear shocks in the morning, and he had a rear suspension noise, and come to find out, a rock had gotten stuck between the torsion housing and the torsion spring plate. So that was an easy fix (I love thoes).
Hey Franz….headed up there in a couple hours.Β how much did that transaxle cost me?Β Β thanks

Got this 69 beetles tail lights working again, fixed the horn, did the usual tune up, oil change, and this ripper is back to daily duties. This late model is packing a 2276 in it.
