My wife/kids drive this car daily. The transaxle has had a main bearing making noise for a while.

I let problems go until they are truly a problem. It chunked out the bearing and started making bad-bad noises….so here I am changing a transaxle this weekend. I’m playing the “transaxle lottery” today. I had this core in my backyard, that I assumed I put there because I thought it was good. We’ll see. I may be doing all this work again next weekend if I loose.

Franz hasn’t been very excited about this trans install. Hopefully it works good. We could have been riding bikes today

    I won the transaxle lottery!

I wasted a lot of time cleaning and re-sealing. If I were a paying customer, I could have bought the transaxle rebuild with what the extra time cost. I’m glad it worked out.

Does it need the valves adjusted and heads torqued? Anything that I missed?

    -throttle

    -door panel

    -paint detail

    -beauty rings

    -middle seat kick panel

    -choke cable

    -trim insert

Ya, sounds about right. Adjusting the doors so they don’t bang and chip again. You could do the maintenance on it if you think it needs it. Valves, head torque etc. KB said he had it done here not to long ago, but you never know.
