Great job on the seat covers – looks like you’ve done that before!

    Looks nice!

Trick is a rivet hole finder, per Clara on a thread on the samba:1508354

Thanks for the compliments!  YouTube is an amazing professor and those covers had perfect fit.  Both made it easy.

I wanted the interior to be a little different, but feel like it might belong. As if VW made a deluxe pickup, like the Platinum editions of modern trucks.

I saw that hole finder gizmo on several threads. It looks like it would help on 80% of the holes, but there are a bunch that are tight.

It does feel great.  I had to reorder the drivers kick panel.  Apparently DC’s in 1960 can have a 6 or 8 fusebox.  They made a 6 fusebox cut out and my bus has the 8 fusebox.  Also ordered some roof panels from Clara that I’ll need to cover in the tan vinyl.  That’s gonna be my first attempt at glue upholstery…wish me luck!

We took family pictures last night.  I was able to sneak away and snapped a few good pictures of the Double Cab last night.

I also got the ride out on the highway.  Up to this point, I’ve mostly cruised around town.  She cruises at 70+ (clocked with another car) with my foot just lightly on the “go” pedal.  Franz, the gearing is perfect!

    Very nice Mike!

That’s the first ones I’ve seen that show the subtle color difference.

Hell yeah. I bet the new steering box feels a lot safer at that speed too.

    Christmas card pictures?

Steering box was nice!  Thanks again to Bo!  I didn’t have to drift all over a couple lanes of traffic.

You guessed it, Christmas card pictures.  I was able to convince the Mrs. to incorporate the truck.  While we were in some other locations, other groups grabbed the opportunity to use the DC as their backdrop.
