No bang, bang today. Sorry Mike.
Had to run to Parker store for full flow hardline parts this afternoon. Got that twisted up and on.
Ran fuel and breather lines, plug wires, synced carb linkage, welded a breather bung onto pass side valve cover, few other misc. bits in there.
Filled her up with break in oil. All ready to fire in the morning.
We will build it if it comes.
Pat…It looks real nice. Looking forward to the firing!
Franz,
Have you seen or used the CSP heater box to fresh air hose extenders? Well worth the price for these exhausts.

www.germanaire.comFed ex should be here any minute with WW parts including link pins. I’m wanting to assemble the front end today.
OG hardware too.
Reserve tap rebuilt, and assembled with all original parts, minus the new cable.
Brazilian vs. German. Larger shaft and nut. Longer arm.
Re -installed zerks and pumped everything full of grease.
Those heat tube couplers are cool Scott.
Franz doing his thing.. you can bet this will drive better than you even expect… the years of experience in assembly and driving our shit.. Helps us to put a bus together you can depend on.. Franz is second to no one when it comes to VW mechanicals… Thanks Franz.. Thanks Pat…. He’s been a huge help in the clean shop since the man broke his ankle..
Honesty can potentially harm your relationship 😢
I don’t know why VW had different design for the Brazilian steering boxes. Driving with that steering box was super stechy. Maybe there are other changes to Brazilian buses that compensate for the steer box. I’m glad to have it back to a German part. The truck is looking immaculate!

You guys are killing it!!!
Sooooo…long time followers probably had a hunch when we didn’t post a vid by this afternoon.
Started right up, dialed in timing, synced carbs, was warming up sounding sweeeet.
Then we started hearing a small tinging. We shut it down started checking things over. We’ve isolated it to an issue in the #1 cylinder, cylinder head we believe.
Sorry Mike. We’ll dig in more tomorrow and figure out exactly what’s up.
At least this is all happening before it went in and headed to TX. No better place then KCW to have to fix a VW… haha 😢
We will build it if it comes.
Yeah, that was weird. Sounded like a valve guide or valve seat. Definitely top end.
Going to have to dig in and see what the problem is.
The good news is that we caught it before any major damage happened, and can work with painters to get it fixed.
Crap! Thanks for the updates. Pat, you’re right, better to happen in GJ than TX. I’m glad you both are working the issue. As you’ve heard me say, reliability is my number one concern. Keep me updated on the progress.
