I can’t wait to retire from running KCW…  Like most old bosses will tell you, being the boss sucks sometimes… 😎  Making everything perfect gets old for me too…..   Shooting for perfection all the time leads to disappointment most the time.. cause we know, nothing is perfect… 😎  But I am sure I am my biggest critic…  My only goal is for everyone to be happy!!  All my “guys”, my customers and my family… And dammit… Myself too…. 😎

We took a little day trip to Painter’s Grinding Saturday, not only to drop off and pick up some goodies, but also to join the BBQ and life celebration for Dayton Painter! What a great group of people and big turnout!  Here are a few pics….

Looks like a great way to honor someone, I’m sure they would have wanted it that way.

 

On a side note-

I had the pleasure of dealing with Eddy from Painters last week, we were getting desperate on finding a rebuilt trans for a customers 68 and I said well let me give these guys a call! Eddy gave me a great deal on one he had on the shelf and was more than happy to ship it to us here in VA. Nice to deal with shops like that.

Have fun on Oahu! Spend a day on the Kailua side if you can, so pretty. There’s a neat Buddhist temple and good coffee at the Kalapawei Market! Have a malasada 🍩 for me, haha.

On a vw note, River is running again, with my old bug motor.  Engine temp 190, not spewing oil! Bam! I’m gonna be in Colorado in August, I think , maybe catch you guys somewhere?

Thanks Sara!!  This has been a bucket list trip for me since I wrote a book report about Pearl harbor in High school 😎  Then we promised ourselves we would go to hawaii on our 30th…. but covid hit… 8-(    So finally… the day is here… I haven’t stepped foot in an airport in a long time!!! 😎  going to be an adventure just getting there…. 😎

Happy to hear about River… 😎  It’s hard to explain to anyone who doesn’t know.. but for folks like us… when our bus is broke… we are broke… 😎  Our Freedom vehicle is what our emotions are propped up with…. 😎 😎 😎

If your coming to Colorado…. I hope that means you are coming to KCW also!!!!  We will road trip all over Colorado with ya!!!!!  😎

It felt like my wings were clipped when my bus was down!

Utah is totally logical! I’m waiting for a new motor (still) and grateful for this one to get me to nearby campouts.  I’m excited to be *really* planning my big trip for next year. 5 years I’ve talked about it and now I’m gonna do it. Early spring.  You’ll see me all again as I make my way to Wisconsin (not the beach, but still special:)
