Voltage regulator was the problem. I found a broken wire on the back of it and decided to try twisting it together. Worked great! Charging like it should now.FranzKeymasterNovember 1, 2018 at 5:54 pmPost count: 1807
Nice fix. Those are hard to find!ColeBParticipantNovember 1, 2018 at 5:58 pmPost count: 822
Ya! Hopefully it lasts. I figured a few less wraps around wouldn’t affect the cooling of the wire too much… we will seeRustabusParticipantNovember 1, 2018 at 7:48 pmPost count: 1006
Awesome Cole!!!!! Could have been a big deal repair but I think you got it solved!!!!! 🙂ColeBParticipantNovember 1, 2018 at 8:18 pmPost count: 822
Thanks Rusty! It’s nice to fix things. I like that. To much now people say “it’s just a thing, buy another thing” that creates a lot of unnecessary waste and why buy a new one when you can fix it? A lot more fun to fix itJWDIIParticipantNovember 2, 2018 at 4:43 amPost count: 345

My best friend who is a truck driver just sent me this pic. Not his load but he seen them and shot me a pic. Looks like someone made a nice score over here on the east coast.Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantNovember 2, 2018 at 8:24 amPost count: 65FranzKeymasterNovember 2, 2018 at 9:55 amPost count: 1807

We will build it if it comes.JWDIIParticipantNovember 2, 2018 at 5:30 pmPost count: 345

Only shit we have around here in the humid ass south.
Yep, those are by far not the worst I have seen around here. That’s why I said score, most of the vws around here have been hoarded and stored outside to return to earth, and if you ask they are not for sale because they are going to restore them one day.RustabusParticipantNovember 2, 2018 at 6:48 pmPost count: 1006
My brother-in-law and I always talk about buying up all of the rust free 50s trucks that are sitting around the farms all over here and just towing them East until they sell!!! 🙂tlambertParticipantNovember 2, 2018 at 7:19 pmPost count: 179
