Switched to 68 axle tubes and I am much happier with the axle to side gear spacing at 3mm.

I had to weld the shock mounts again. I was careful while welding, along with pre-heat, post-heat, + wrapped in glass blanket to cool slowly.

A litte JB weld to prevent oil leaks.

Baja 1000 is two all day and two all night driving. I think there will be plenty of time.

I don’t know what I am talking about….  It just sounds fun!!!   I reckon I don’t have a strong enough back for that program….  I’ll probably have to help on the side…. If I can hang out long enough to make it to the actual race!!!!  😎    I’ll try harder next time..  😎  😎

I think it would be fun to get this going and drag out to White wash dunes area for a weekend campout… there is a lot more than just sand out there… 😎  You can run to moab on back roads!!! That would be fun in a group!!!   Dan could trailer it with his sand rail for us!!!! 😎

I am coming out this weekend. Probably Thursday night-sunday night. Lets get this thing buttoned up and do some testing! break that new motor in etc…. Maybe switch the antenna location? I don’t know just little things we need to start figuring out.

 

I posted this in the Utah Campouts thread, but it is more relevant here. Just talked with KB about having a BAJA meeting here at his office next Thursday afternoon. the 18th. Would be good to have you there Franz. Either in person or on the phone. We can chat more when I get to KCW this week. But he wants to figure out housing, amount of people, time frame, Oliver is looking at a few jeeps down there, how we want to pre run, vehicles, set up, tools, parts etc… Maybe we email and ask about course changes for the class 11… At least make a list of things to do. I have time and want to get us prepared. Lets talk more this weekend when we get the car all ready!
