Early steering shaft and 7/8″ universal bearing w/mount… Just like a dune buggy(pretty sure empi sells the bearing and shaft). The end is a quick release we got from Kar Tek.
I would ditch that late stock stuff. It has the collapsible shaft too? I also don’t like the stock turn signal lever for off road driving. Always bumping it.
Thanks for the info and picture Franz. I didnโt think about using the bearing set up or shaft like that. Good idea on a quick release wheel. Might make it easier for my fat ass to get in.
As always, KCW has the answers
lets do some american racing… ๐ย ๐
Been a wild ride, but it got me here ๐
Alright! I’m all caught up on my work. Time to get this baja going…not sure if we’re still planning on the San Felipe 250 in early April?…but I’m going to work towards that. I will have the car ready to race or play.
Going to work on this like a personal project…evenings and weekends.
I’ve been planning the new skid plates and winch attachment with a 1 1/4″ receiver front and rear.
New skid plate fab work today.ย
We will build it if it comes.
Blaine is in the house today. New engine build going on. New case with a engle VZ14 cam….Should be better on the low end.
Rear skid is looking good. I would post pictures, but I don’t want anyone to see. ๐
Top secret racing program. I like it. ๐๐ผ Tell Blaine hey for me!
New case went together like legos. Excited to install the new transaxle and test ‘er out.
How’d it go with Blaine? Did he like how it all went together?
More tension?
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
Zip ties so they canโt pop off. I had to ask Franz…K.I.S.S..๐
We will build it if it comes.
Ready to run. I feel good about the way it went together…going to break-in in the car.
90 amp alternator installed now to run all the lights and navigation. Need to order a couple small Baja design light to put in the bumper too.
Class rules say original fan shroud must be used. This is a stale-air 40hp shroud with oil cooler delete, and early fan for less power draw.
Awesome! Any thought into the exhaust?
