We try. Its a team effort. A lot of thought has gone into this car
Racing is hard to do, we feel lucky to have the opportunity….doing our best to get this car on the podium.KleakeParticipantFebruary 13, 2019 at 11:46 amPost count: 613

Gotta ask KB. I haven’t talked with him about it recently, I don’t know what he is planning on.Pat KKeymasterFebruary 16, 2019 at 6:23 amPost count: 1210
Registration for the San Felipe 250 opened up a few days ago. Race weekend is April 4-7.
We will build it if it comes.VwfoolParticipantFebruary 16, 2019 at 11:15 pmPost count: 263
Dumb question here. What year steering column and what type of steering wheel are you running in this car? I pulled the one out of my ‘73 and was hoping to just put in an early column to clean up the look of everything but the mounts are way different. Just curiousFranzKeymasterFebruary 17, 2019 at 8:52 amPost count: 3209
Early steering shaft and 7/8″ universal bearing w/mount… Just like a dune buggy(pretty sure empi sells the bearing and shaft). The end is a quick release we got from Kar Tek.
I would ditch that late stock stuff. It has the collapsible shaft too? I also don’t like the stock turn signal lever for off road driving. Always bumping it.VwfoolParticipantFebruary 17, 2019 at 1:53 pmPost count: 263
Thanks for the info and picture Franz. I didn’t think about using the bearing set up or shaft like that. Good idea on a quick release wheel. Might make it easier for my fat ass to get in.

Alright! I’m all caught up on my work. Time to get this baja going…not sure if we’re still planning on the San Felipe 250 in early April?…but I’m going to work towards that. I will have the car ready to race or play.
Going to work on this like a personal project…evenings and weekends.
I’ve been planning the new skid plates and winch attachment with a 1 1/4″ receiver front and rear.Pat KKeymasterMarch 2, 2019 at 3:42 pmPost count: 1210
New skid plate fab work today.
We will build it if it comes.FranzKeymasterMarch 5, 2019 at 8:48 amPost count: 3209
Blaine is in the house today. New engine build going on. New case with a engle VZ14 cam….Should be better on the low end.
Rear skid is looking good. I would post pictures, but I don’t want anyone to see. 🙂ColeBModeratorMarch 5, 2019 at 9:01 amPost count: 1416
Top secret racing program. I like it. 👍🏼 Tell Blaine hey for me!FranzKeymasterMarch 6, 2019 at 8:48 amPost count: 3209

How’d it go with Blaine? Did he like how it all went together?tlambertParticipantMarch 6, 2019 at 12:25 pmPost count: 286
Franz what’s the reason for the round tabs welded to the VCs ?
Yes I know to keep the clip from coming upward but any other reason?

Zip ties so they can’t pop off. I had to ask Franz…K.I.S.S..😎

Ready to run. I feel good about the way it went together…going to break-in in the car.
90 amp alternator installed now to run all the lights and navigation. Need to order a couple small Baja design light to put in the bumper too.
Class rules say original fan shroud must be used. This is a stale-air 40hp shroud with oil cooler delete, and early fan for less power draw.ColeBModeratorMarch 6, 2019 at 8:45 pmPost count: 1416
Awesome! Any thought into the exhaust?
