Nothing like Shasta…😎. But if I am going racing… I might have to skip it this year😞😞😞😞😞. Keep the miles off the pamper for racing trips???? Humm skip the most fun I have ever had in life for some racing…. is this a good move?? Go from camping and relaxing road trips to expensive frustrating weekends not completely in my control….

keep miles off the pamper? What gibberish are you talking?? You’re John jones! You only put miles ON. You gotta go on Shasta! Then racing. Shasta is training for racing anyway. It’ll be a nice “retreat” training trip before the season starts;) haha seth and I are getting prepped for another awesome trip! And anywho, I have that gas money to give you on Shasta 😉 haha! I’ve been looking forward for a whole year to do Shasta again. Some of the best times I’ve had in a bus! Gotta go again!

yeah….  hard to miss the most event of the year!!!

I was hoping to meet you guys in Ely this year, and follow you to Spencer.

Thanks man… means a lot to me…  I think Gretchen and I make it look easy… it’s NOT always easy…. but to get to the good part.. You gotta get through the tough parts first…..     I think my choice of best friend’s at 18 years of age,  paved the way for the life I am living now… 😎 😎 😎

    Thanks Corporate!

OK… that day is gone.. we can stop this sappy talk… 😎 😎

Any surprises on the USS pamper this year during post SST checks? Frame cracks this year? I need to get my bus on the lift once this snow melts.

Shit was dialed!!!!!  😎   and now you can add a full TOWING trip to the pamper trip for the year!!!   1300 miles or so… 😎  😎  😎   But I dunno how many more times I will be doing that….. The bus towed AWESOME!!!  Audrey said she still had a hard time keeping up with me… and I could still do most the hills in 4th gear!!!     Towed like a mack truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Proud of it!!!!!

I love the new engine!  although I am tempted to try the bigg ol heater boxes and header and see if I can allow it to breath even more, but maybe have some decent heat????  Is this possible to have both??  anyone out there have a set of big full boxes on a big 2 liter in a heavy ass bus???

I have been in recovery mode since I got home from Barstow… I think I am just now feeling better..    another thing I learned from barstow..  Volkswagen racing, no matter what your cup of soup is, it is mostly about “keeping your Volkswagen alive”  Just like Mr Muir told us from day one….  I didn’t listen, never have, I have always figured they could “handle” the abuse..  not true… listen dumb ass… fuck….  It’s like the VW gods felt like it was ready to give me another lesson… 😎  a character building one… ya know, the one’s that usually suck…. 😎  😎

So I am asking myself today what do “they” want next??   something exciting I a sure… well…. I have this project that needs finished up…. so I am going to move in that direction… 😎  😎

JJ has been working on frame reinforcement for his bumper yesterday and this morning. 9EAE48FD-07A5-42F7-B20D-0D9386CC71A12740BA96-8852-4042-9107-48FF97ADE1A93884CE70-89BC-40F7-8997-989714F88D70

We will build it if it comes.

Yeah man… Got everything repaired back to stock… Now I am going to double up my frame for the entire section that took any “wear” and tie it into my D pillars.. 😎  😎  😎    Amazingly… I don’t think my light weight hitch failed at all!!!!  The frame failed when the hitch tried to pull the bolts through the sheetmetal frame…. 😎  I also plan on some sort of huge plate washer for inside the frame rail, tied into both bolts and beyond an inch or so… That aught to do it!!!

I already hammered and cleaned it up a little so you can’t tell, but them bolts were down a good 3/8 inch…. 😎
