I dunno if I have it in me to build another class 11.   What was my favorite thing to do.. build cars… now keeps me sore and pissed off..

Shit, hope you are okay. You have come a long way on recovery with your back pain, take care of yourself. It is easier said than done. I find myself now following all the correct ways to lift, use ladders, ask for help on heavier things than I use to. Life hurts a lot more these days. I feel the damage has already been done to my body and now trying to take as much care as I can, still find myself doing stupid shit all the time though.

I watch Sawyer bounce all the time off things and it amazes me and also make me hurt 😂

If you decide to build another Class 11, I would come help.

I probably need to give up this early chassis stuff and build a darn IRS car…  No reason to TRY and make Swing axle work when IRS already does.  Limiting the swing axle to only up travel seriously limits my travel… not great on them huge jumps.. 😎

If I build another car…  it will be Crandon specific.. 😎  Short course specific. 😎 I’m half tempted to build a link pin IRS car!!   No one at Crandon seems to check any of that kind of shit.. I wonder how long it’s been since someone did that?  I know it’s not legal…. just sayin… 😎  would it be better?

An IRS car would be sick! KCW should keep racing, its the most interactive team I know of. Bummer the Oval is dead but I am sure you learned a lot on how to build the next car.  I have always wanted to get in the pits and see what everybody does different. Especially Shreddy, he seems to have his rig dialed. It always intrigues me what everyone does to get that slight edge in such a limited class.

They make HD ball joints and now EMPI has those sweet trailing arms with ball joints in them that are new.

On another note, what the rear light color regulations for slow cars? I think they are different between Baja and Moore race series? What do you find is the most noticeable when racing in the dirt? I want to put some rear LED’s on the Otter bus for when we are doing trips like the Utah 300. I remember seeing Badgers baja Blue and white lights two cars ahead of me in the thick dust but not seeing any vehicles in front of me at all. 😮

Green and orange flashing…  get some of them bright ass lights…  it’s worth it like you said got visibility. I Really like my whip!!! Which I need to get another of!!!

I think I am gonna cut the body off and just rebody it and make a few modifications!   I have some ideas!

Is there any rule regarding having IRS suspension as long as the pan matches the oval body and runs wide 5 wheels ? There is an IRS torsion tube assembly with wide 5 hubs off an old sand rail in my pile of odds and ends.

I know the rule makers have their reasons, but I don’t understand why the rules are so rigid in keeping the suspension setup consistent with the YOM, but everyone can run a 1600 DP engine regardless of year.  Seems like it would be simple to allow any suspension combo as long as it’s stock VW between 1950-1970.  Let everyone have IRS and LP with their 1600’s, which puts the emphasis on setup skills and driving skills (like every other race circuit) and not YOM advantages/disadvantages.
