I got it all taken apart about the time my back said enough…. 😎  I see cracks around welds and buckles in the body trans mounts that are cracked mid looks like shit…  These cars take a beating!!!  fuck man!!!!!

Class 11 is rough on Volkswagens..

I had gone all drag car mode for one weekend… 😎

The only way I knew I could make Candon was to steal the trans out of my sand rail.. which we did.. 😎  Now it is going back into its original home!!!  Yeah, gotta flip the R and P again…. 😎  But, I can probably get all this done before Thanksgiving, and not spend any money, and be able to hit the dunes before it gets bitter cold…. 😎 and have my sand rail DONE!  😎  Functioning like it should!!!!!  and I can get a proper trans back in my 11 car…. 😎

CASE IN POINT!!!   I have one side apart…. and the axle tube didn’t want to come off at all!!!

Notice the BENT axle tube… and where it was trying to machine my axles….  I think the axle is still straight…

The spring plate hit it’s stop… so the next thing gave… the tube…  😎  I am sure this is from slamming our shit so hard on the jumps at Crandon… 😎  Fuck… More shit that needs replaced to go racing..   Shit.. now that I am thinking about it… it also could have been from that time I put the shock on the wrong side…  That bent the bottom of my shock….. humm… either way…. FUCK!   I’ll see if the other side is bent…

Well…. Sure enough… BOTH sides were bent and dragging on the axles… 8-(  and I was thinking… the shock on the wrong side thing was before Glenn Helen, and we swapped trans/ axes tubes before Crandon, we would have noticed.  The other side I was able to get the bearing out first, and it wasn’t as hard to deal with..

I Drive TOO HARD… Bottom Line.  Fuck… I guess I need something stronger… I have destroyed everything again… except the car… 😎  😎  😎  It is still straightenoutable!!!! 😎 😎 😎

humm, weird, stock bugs weren’t meant to jump big ass jumps…. imagine that.. Them parts are stock… and with the turned down axle, it was able to bend farther???  Surprised the axle looks to be straight… the axle saved it?? 😎 😎  Turned down axles seem ok.. I even tried em with a 2L and slicks on sticky track!!!

Maybe it’s all the spring plate pressure and that fox shock holding it in place???  naaa.

I am still getting my head wrapped around that fact that we not only break our cars in this type racing, we destroy them with little to no future use in the works for the car or any of it’s parts cause your gonna destroy it,..
