With rain in the forecast I think we should make the rears tires knobby….like a dirt bike. So that they will clear the mud.

    This pattern?

    DC5D491F-2F5A-4298-8904-36C3D9B43C0C

Dressed-up short block. Crank end play set to .007” -turns over buttery smooth.  I feel good about it 💯%

    Top end assembly tomorrow.

The mud slingers up here in the high country (wet and very muddy in winter) look more like this? Not sure how you’d translate that onto the tread pattern you have though….

Long block. Stock aluminum push rods, .120” rocker stand spacers, swivel feet valve adjusters, Hoover oil mod groove on the rocker to connect the oil passages and squirter on the adjuster.

Visser Precision circle track finned valve covers for cooling. 😉

Those look just like the yokohama’s 7.0’s…  Yeah, I think them tires ROCK and are pretty much indestructible..  But too big and heavy!

Check out these grooved babies  Ribbed fronts, digger rears with big grooves to clean out and chuck out and dig in the mud! and, LIGHT WEIGHT!!!

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

I hope we can get this engine run today and stuffed in the car.. I want to get a fresh weight… We have taken out the desert air cleaner and associated tubbing and union’s.  Also took out the fuel filler in the window and put a filler right on the tank..  Removed hood mech and stricker shit,  turned down some smoth faced drums, lighter wheels and tires….   I can’t wait to see how much it weighs… 😎

Look at all that rubber everywhere

We are racing in the “Stock Bug” class right?  I think I got that shit nailed!!!!!!!

You guys are looking good! Reminds me of making some “Bare Tire Class” ice racing tires once. Ya they have a “Bare Tire Class”, no studs, spikes or screws and yeah, I only made them once; I spent 9 hrs a tire cutting grooving and shredding!! Ahhh, but there is nothing like the smell of burning rubber… yumm.

Break-in went very well. Sounds good. Gets hot. Rockers off to re-torque heads and check stuff out. All super-happy.
