I would keep the solex for now with a good aircleaner system, I know you put your heart into this race and I know you have learned a ton from it, I will help you any way I can, just ask, I have spent my life in class 11 51600 and 1600. I hold no info back, I want you to enjoy class 11 and you can.. certainly am not kicking you while down, I have won class 11 in Barstow on the roughest 65 mile course you could imagine, take all the rough and double the course averaged 36 MPH, my last drive in a 11 was the 2017 Mint 400 we won averaging 37 MPH. To some that may sound slow but let me tell you no Trophy truck on earth has ever come close to doubling my average speed, never. Glenn Helen in July 31st weekend expect a big entry and a very fun course. We will be there for that, JJ dont get down leave some of the bangs because they will come right back

1164 in that video is the car we won the Mint in, the one that got the hole shot. He would most likeley won but hurt his wifes back a lap or so in and had to slow down

Air cleaner is number one on my list… above my eye protection!!!ย  That stopped me…. My ignorant ass thought a regular aftermarket air cleaner could handle that shit…. I should have ATLEAST run an outer wear!!! and Sara offered one… fuck…ย  Look at that second pic of the intakes!!!

apart, washed out, a bunch of the crappy shit cut out already….ย  you can see it in the back ground of my next project to have some fun with.. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    I want to fab an indestructible skid plate for my car…. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Possible front to back…. ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Žย  yup…. I said that…. ๐Ÿ˜Žย  all aluminum??

the floor just gets beat, 1/4 in front and back wrap up to the bumper up front. No need for entire car just turn your head when you see the floor bashed in lol. . You can do the same to the back of the car to, bring skid plate up to the bumper and be sure to secure the bumper well. My car on the right start line Parker 400 1977, my dad getting ready to get in me in the right seat. you can see the skid plates up to the bumpers, there are 71 class 11 carsย  behind us in this picture this is when no tubing was allowed up to bumpers and no tubing to front ends basiclly 6 point cages and REAL STOCKold11

I’m still recovering from Racers remorse…ย  Been a tough week..ย  Broke my race car, broke my bus broke my trailer, spent all my $$$ and now have to start the process of rebuilding everything.. I know.. poor me… ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Dave, what shocks did you guys run in the 80’s??ย  I’m betting bilsteins…8-)ย  why not????ย  it’s more about keeping the shit together than handling is ๐Ÿ˜Ž

If I had a good air cleaner my engine would have kept running, I would not have gotten stuck on all the hills, and my starter would not have gone out, I also could have pushed it down the next hill and kept driving if I knew it would start… live and learn.ย  a fucking air cleaner killed my race…

If I had had skid plates I would not have bashed my shit so much and increased my chances of finishing.

Look at this RC10 from 1985…. Skid plate front to back!!! Team associated had it figured out.ย  ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Ž counter sunk hardware on entire bottom.. they planned on dragging that shit from time to time.. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

RC-10’s were the shit back in the day! Racing is tough on machines, no matter what size. I can remember dropping loads of money on R/C cars. Never tried actual car racing on my budget. I would definitely have racers’ remorse with real cars.

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.

    RC10 CE

Agree RC10’s are the shit. I think a lot of us car guys in their 40s got their start with Associated, Tamyia and Losi back in the day.ย  This is my 1990 RC10 Championship Edition with the stealth tranny.ย  I wanted this thing so bad when I was 13, I saved up every dollar I could earn until I could buy it. I can still remember the boner I got when I opened the box for the first time.ย  Man, I wish I could re-live those days.

Mine had been sitting in pieces in a shoe box for over 20 years.ย  My wife was giving me the (well deserved) silent treatment a few weeks ago. I used the opportunity to take a few bong hits and run it all through the ultrasonic for a shelf queen re-assembly.ย  For a few hours, I felt like I was a kid again!

As a long time lurker, it warms my heart to see JJ recover from his back issues well enough to build and race this oval. Best wishes to the whole KCW crew for continued success!

ran Bilstens on the 67 then in late 76 we made the shocks with 2 lines 1 way check valves with resivors. First to have anything like that at the time. Shock held twice the amount of oil at the time, Went much bigger later on. JJ picture your weekend times 50 in 76, so many came un prepaired and many cars were raced 1 time and junked because the rules at the time just ruined cars 1st time out. Me on take off, damn thing was as old as I wasB52

I want to figure out skid plates front and rear… and I want to try and mount them as tight up against the car as I can. maybe no tubes??? very few…ย  weld bungs in my frame horns and torsionย  mount it right to it…. skid city….ย  I am thinking more and more about running some regular old shocks ๐Ÿ˜Žย  ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Now in my head I know, the car is fragile and will probably break… so I should just drive like grandma and finish the damn race!!!

But watching video’s from glenn helen… looks like we will be racing there????ย  actually pushing the car… cause it’s smooth?

RC10’s were the shit… still are.. I would totally get back intoย  RC racing if there were something in town..especially some vintage rc10 racing…8-)ย  ๐Ÿ˜Ž
