I have been involved with class 11 for 46 years now and signed in to give just a bit of advice, the back of your car is very sparce for bars, not that you need a lot but from what I can see you have no way of supporting your rear horns which will be the very first thing to break if you dont have them. The rules allow the cage to go anywhere yes it does say straps in the rules but that went out in the late 70s. Just trying to help you, my first race was at Riverside in 1975, in what was a brand new 1967 Vw sedan with only a 6 point roll cage, it was also the very first race for class 11. 2 laps into the race the passenger horn broke putting us out. about 6 miles is all it took and we were not the only one to have one break. It is one of the most important supports you can put in your car for longevity. Good luck to you….Dave Hendrickson…Dave-co

Good call Dave. It looks like you have a nice tight cage in your car.👍

We’re building this chassis a little different…trying to keep it as light as possible. Short course bare minimum car. John also decided to keep the stock rear shock mounting….for the smaller shock and lower weight.

Added a few more tabs to help keep the panels flapping and rattling around too much…..A couple on each rear quarter, one along the floor, and one on the cage,  13 total…feels lucky!!!!

There was a lot of small bits of manufacturing debris in the fuel cell. Cleaned it out good and installed the Holly mat. 87C08A35-A4C9-473D-AD06-FB99791EC79EF5DD8421-E4C1-4E48-9185-FD819931A8FD

Repositioned the filler neck towards the pass rear qtr. window and installed the fuel cell.

Fire wall is finished…except for the bead rolling….I leave that for JJ to have fun with.

All of the fab work will be done tomorrow!!!!!!!C45A4E97-56BD-4AA6-9812-2FE3766946B35134161F-F976-4568-BF94-0C619F16268F330EBDE3-189D-4472-B3A5-E55F8CB97248B8B4B217-2E08-4E88-B5AD-BD7370314C93E09B1031-5C34-4672-A9F5-57F7065F3AB0104F76DC-A401-4D6F-8029-060594A5A9BD

    Franz,

Where did you find the couplers that you posted to make the rear down bars to the frame horns removable? Seems most places are out of them where we are looking.
