I got Greta a new Bosch Fuel Pump, fuel filter, and some fresh fuel line 👍🏻 I’ve been driving her this week and she’s been driving noticeably better than before, so hopefully the problem was in there somewhere… there was a little kink in the fuel line between the filter and the pump so maybe that was it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Audrey said her bus is getting waaaaaayyyyyy better gas mileage  after the fix prior to going to Moab, and seems to be running cooler since the desert repair!  Must be that magic Moab red dirt 😁🤷‍♀️  Special thanks to Shanti, Franz, and Pat’s high speed Baja part deliver service!!!! Oh!  And the moral support for the audience😁😁😁 ( I am hoping someone got a pic of the amphitheater full of happy supporters!!!!)  THANKS!

After deciding we didn’t want to break Greta we started to turn her around and smoked it on a rock step and oil started pouring out… OOPS 😬… Pat, Riley, and Pete drove all the way back into Moab to TomTom’s where there was a type 4 motor to steel the part they were pretty sure was broken…Meanwhile, Shanti and my Dad were taking Greta’s engine all apart right there in the dirt. Once they got in there deep enough, sure enough it was the oil filter mount, which is apparently a common break with this engine… knowing they were coming back with the new mount, but likely no gasket, we had to improvise – so Shanti and I made one out of the cardboard of the new oil filter box (thanks Cole!) and hoped it would work 😅🤞🏻When Pat, Riley and Pete returned with the mount, Franz and my Dad put in the new mount with the cardboard gasket and got it all back together again. Thanks to several people for donating, we put in new oil and she started right up with no oil drips! Hoorah!! 🥳

Fuck yeah we did!!!! Thank you thank you thank you again to my Dad, Shanti, Franz, Pat and Riley, Pete, and Cole for helping make sure my beloved Greta got fixed so we could drive her out of the desert on Saturday!! I know type 4 shit is not what any of you do, but I SO appreciate you guys putting your heads together to figure it out for me. I owe you some cookies and beer and so much more – my gratitude can’t even be explained. 🧡 Thank you also to those who donated + helped find parts, tools and oil of course also!

I am also so thankful for the people who chose to stay and wait for the part, keeping us company and our cups + spirits high! No man left behind in this community – we all look out for each other however we can! Thank you to Sarah and everyone who turned around before they broke their buses also because when we did finally get back in the dark, there was some delicious tacos warm and ready for us too.

This community is pretty unbeatable, I love you all.

I decided to take the “extra’ oil cooler and filter off,  it was hanging low, obviously. and I don’t want that to happen again… since I know Audrey likes to OFFROAD!!!

Audrey bought a house down the street from the shop….. 850 Kimball!!! I am excited to have her so close!!  But it is a TOTAL FIXER UPPER… Not even inhabitable right now… 😎   But work has begun!!!  I think Audrey should start a thread about the home rebuild!!!

FUCK yeah Audrey!! Real estate is where it’s at!! You will not regret that decision I guarantee it!

Sounds like my kinda place, uninhabitable when purchased 🙂 Can’t wait to see KCW do a house. Keep us posted on the new project!

I thought and think about something Jeff told me years ago when I was all excited about getting my stuff paid off..  He said I would just buy something else… I really didn’t believe him. but he was right… They made it soooooo easy to buy this other property since we own 801 and 813 already…. 😎  and I forsee me trying to buy every lot that comes up for sale on kimball now… 😎  I want to own the whole damn street!!!

You were right on Jeff.. Thanks for the insight… 😎

Start with a couple of houses then start building hotels. Buy a couple of railroads and waterworks and your set. Just keep a get-out-of-jail card handy.   😉

Thats Awesome!  My first house was an uninhabited old meth house.  got it for a scream and learned to work my ass of on it.  Sweat equity is free money and the most gratifying thing in the world.  I was able to turn that house twelve years later, made 100k and bought my dream house.  Congrats on the first step.
