Can’t wait to see this one looks like the right direction.John JonesKeymasterOctober 27, 2018 at 7:09 amPost count: 6326
well we dug out parts from other partial beams and such so we could leave the original beam in tact…. 😎 It does have the ghia only sway bar on it still…8-)
So I need to build my dropped spindles and get that shit painted so I can assemble it!!! 😎 Andy keeps saying he wants to help me with it… but his hands are full on his SUBI project…..8-) 😎 😎AndymParticipantOctober 27, 2018 at 11:29 pmPost count: 934
JJ got his 2” beam assembled spindle to spindle.
We spent tonight on masking the Fuchs off for detail paint.. 😎😎

Another good day of ghia stuff…. Check out those plates some one installed, I am guessing they did that instead of changing the bad tranny mounts..8-)
Chris doesn’t know he needs to get that shock boss off before blasting… 8-(
And as weird as it may sound coming from me… I am glad I did not cut up the original beam or springs or anything to build this narrowed beam….. 😎 a good stock beam has gotten expensive… I used to just cut em up…. 8-(RustabusParticipantOctober 28, 2018 at 7:14 pmPost count: 1842
Why did you paint your Fuchs yellow????? 🙂John JonesKeymasterOctober 29, 2018 at 7:47 amPost count: 6326
Thats tape smart guy…. I detailed em black like usual…. Also got my torsions and spring plates off and notched, prepped and some shake and shoot painted on em…. almost like a kit to assemble now… 😎RustabusParticipantNovember 2, 2018 at 6:56 pmPost count: 1842

It’s got a beam, a tranny and I got the wheels mounted up yesterday.. Franz detailed my caps for me.. thanks!
I need to pack some wheel bearings and put the rotors on…. Then… maybe we can get a picture of the stance!! 😎FranzKeymasterNovember 3, 2018 at 5:23 pmPost count: 3363

Hes got the brakes bled and ready to shove the motor in!John JonesKeymasterNovember 4, 2018 at 6:14 pmPost count: 6326
what a weekend… I spent Saturday hooking up brake lines and installing drums and rotors and master and a few new metal lines etc… I also tried to bleed it.. but it would not cooperate!!!! So I said fuck it and went in early…. Sunday… Cold out.. so put it on the ground, got it in the shop.. did my thing trying to bleed the brakes again.. every trick I can think of… and finally pull the master and take it back apart.. Manufacturer didn’t drill one of the hole sin the master.. that feeds the front side of the plunger!!!! anyway… Drill a hole, reinstall and bam, ONE time around with the one man brake bleeder and it was hard pedal city! 😎 anyway… I filled the tranny, tightened shit up, scraped some more dirt off and drug the motor in I want to use…
Car is looking awesome… Love it… It has that look.. a few pics… 😎RustabusParticipantNovember 4, 2018 at 7:49 pmPost count: 1842
