Almost Sounds like a vintage Volkswagen hahahakevinbParticipantDecember 1, 2017 at 10:57 amPost count: 17FranzKeymasterDecember 1, 2017 at 1:36 pmPost count: 428
Looks like the oil cooler is the cause of the oil leak. I ordered a new clutch this morning and sent the lever shocks to apple hydraulics.FranzKeymasterDecember 1, 2017 at 1:40 pmPost count: 428
Not yet, I was planning to take your tuck to Doug’s shop for the canvas work. We need an engine to do that.
Sounds good Franz, didn’t know if he was just going to drop over and get measurements ,for the canopy
Got a call from Painter’s about the engine. Its bad. They said it needed a case and crank. Estimated about $3500 to repair the longblock. I told them I needed to let you know before we can proceed.KleakeParticipantDecember 1, 2017 at 9:45 pmPost count: 173

Mirror type hinge pin. I’m almost certain that it wouldn’t. Maybe extra for increased safety? Should we with a regular flat type hinge pin? Or leave it alone. Or mirror?FranzKeymasterDecember 1, 2017 at 10:06 pmPost count: 428Paul SextonParticipantDecember 1, 2017 at 10:57 pmPost count: 54

This is one nice Ghia. I was checking out while there for a week. Even has Bronco orange on the inside of rims. 😀
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.kevinbParticipantDecember 2, 2017 at 10:20 amPost count: 17

I noticed the hinge pin too but I agree….I don’t think its supposed to have a mirror. Right?
Also, do we have a correct star coil for it yet or do I need to keep looking?FranzKeymasterDecember 2, 2017 at 10:46 amPost count: 428
I have not found a star coil. Research on samba indicates that the skinny version is for VW part number TL 6/1. I also found some info that says “moon” coil with production code “C” would be the most correct for 1947. The “star” version came out in 1948.kevinbParticipantDecember 2, 2017 at 9:11 pmPost count: 17FranzKeymasterDecember 4, 2017 at 10:27 amPost count: 428
Pat chopped and dropped the hoops 2 1/2″ Lines up better with the rack and will fit the enclosed trailer.
