Hey, sorry. Been busy playing this new role of grandpa the past couple months... In between that been doing what I can with the 5/1600 car. When I got it was told trans reverse was blown, thought it was the loose clutch tube. Got that welded solid again and it still was not happening… so got the trans apart and what it was was whoever built the trans machined the gear down where it slides on the fork (so it don’t rub gears) and the gear jumped out of the fork, luckily the weddle gears are stronger than the stock reverse gear so just put in a new reverse gear and it all works now…. Need to get it out and drive it, but reverse engages now, it does barely touch in neutral, but if it stays on the fork I’m good with that.

got some lights to finish up (added dot headlights and signals) figuring out the spot/flood and then it’s getting a Wayner special paint job…. Then I gotta figure exhaust, this high compression 1600 is a loud bitch with the s&s header with a super trap… thinking an a1 is in my future but not sure that will quiet it down enough to roll thru town.

Still working the day job, pays for my addictions.

the flying pic is from previous owner, I hope to find my balls by the time this car is ready to go out in the wild again so I can get my own flying shots.

got the car moved over to the clean shop and got it all sanded down, welded up some extra holes not needed, need to bodywork a couple spots and spot prime the big shit up.

still gotta figure out exhaust, maybe I have too high expectation, put a baffle in the stinger and combined with the super trap, didn’t do a whole lot,  above 3k it gets rowdy loud, pretty sure the neighbors are going to hate me.

The “clean shop” is a bay in my shop that’s curtained off for making a mess or occasional painting.

I got it painted, still debating on stripes

I also built an exhaust and I think it’s now quieter than my A1 on the bus.

also got it all back together and windshield in, Soon as it warms up a little I wanna take it out and see how it does.
