    haha he was cool.

Felt so good to drive it yesterday. Hopefully Greg gets back to me about the Race Capture stuff.

Is this the correct fuel filter?

What do you think about that duramax fuel filter/heater that Greg was talking about?

Seems like a good idea, since I cant get it to start right in the cold. Im guessing that would change the whole fuel filter setup?

What about that coolant heater? I ordered the cheap oil sump heater because it’ll be here quick.

Yes, I think the glue-on sump heater will do the same thing as the coolant heater.

I kind of liked the duramax intake air heater element. We could use a relay and toggle switch it on/off for first thing in the morning starts.

I’m not so sure the duramax fuel heater/filter is going to do much. Usually that is to prevent fuel gel-ing when its 0 degrees Alaska type feezing-cold. I’ve only had problems on the coldest of mornings in our environment. Greg is saying the fuel heater helps the diesel combust. I am not sure I agree.

Plus, I take into account that you guys will be sleeping in it, using the propane heater….that is going to keep things relatively warm. I don’t think its going to have problems with the fuel freezing and wax build-up in the fuel filter.

Here is the Vanagon all detailed before I ruined it on the fisher towers road;) haha! Franz always kills the details.F3F85A8F-FF5C-490B-BF5B-BB4AFFF16DC7im down to try whatever you think will work. Talked with KB yesterday and he wants to get it running right in the cold. So tell me what to order up and letโ€™s warm up this cold hearted bitch haha

the fuel heaters play a huge role in filtration, the warmed up molecules of whatever is in the fuel can’t pass through the fuel filter as easily as when they are cold….. or something like that lol

Engine block warmer like Boxeer is saying will get it running…but you’re not always going to have access to 110v, What then?

The stock Subaru glow plugs stay on after its running to keep it running. It should also have an intake air heater. I think those two things are the biggest issues with the cold starting.

Talking with Greg it seems he doesn’t want to mess with extra complication. So I don’t know what to say. We should listen to Greg and do what he suggest…but I’m loosing faith.

I think this duramax intake air heater would be easy-ish to install in the aluminum pipe between the turbo and intake manifold. Factory install would be computerized control…We would have to put it on a toggle switch and run it manually.

Back to black is by mothers. It is a petroleum based product that brings black plastic back to life

I wish it would start easier… I am glad it’s gone. I will never offer to do another subi swap for the rest of my life… ๐Ÿ˜Žย  “Read my lips… No more subi swaps”ย  ๐Ÿ˜Ž
