Well, we’re way behind on updating anything on this project, but this is a original Manx project Glenn and I bought a few months ago and are just now attacking. The plan is to keep the body very period correct and original while having a totally fresh pan and mechanicals.
Here is what we started with:
Then we wet sanded and buffed the original gelcoat to find out if we’d need to repaint or not. It turned out great so we’re just going to patch and blend the little spots where fiberglass is showing through and keep the little nicks and scratches for original patina.
Tore down the transmission and beam, got new parts and repainted it.
Blasted the pan
Fixed any issues, straightened it out, cleaned, seam sealed. Painted!
