Here’s the beetle swap. I had to shorten the intake Y pipe to fit under the decklid spring. Owner said he’s gonna cut a fan shroud up and try to fake the funk some more.
Looks good Andy.
I don’t think a fan shroud will fit between the intakes. You’d have to make some funky offset manifold too.
I’d think you’d also want to incorporate an aircooled alternator and stand.
Yeah franz it’s a tight fit for a shroud.
I want to use dual throttle bodies on a build, look more like dual carbs to the average bear. Maybe my own car. I just need the space to get my car into the shop. Got Jason’s 58 subi ragtop in my shop, Phil’s notchback for subi swap and pan sections and some rust repair, and Teresa’s burnt camper.
Sounds like I got a double cab we’re gonna do a mid engine subi swap, s10 front a arm clip, total custom job to.
everything is good here, still growing, still learning.
Why would u want to make a subi look like an aircooled? Conscience getting to you….LOL
We will build it if it comes.
Did the pirate vanagon make it out there yet?
Did the pirate vanagon make it out there yet?
I’m not sure which one that could be?? I might have one coming from Tennessee.
Coming from Colorado I thought… I’m not making the announcement tho, just spreading rumors…..
Pete is going to do the conversion on the Vanagon for Audrey… She’s getting the straight forward kit conversion…
I still can’t figure out why they spelled vanagon with an O…. 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
I love me some late model type 3’s.. I’ve done a few of them, late model vws can be cool with the right rims and suspension and motor. This month I’m just clearing shop on every project.
I got this cool late model squareback here…it’s gonna be a fun build!! Everyone is gonna want one!
When the 4 in Saggy Butt Fred fails, that’ the route I’m going. Don’t think RMW makes a kit for late bays though.
I can make anything anyone needs for a swap. The newest one I did so far is a 1978 bus. My rear engine hanger bracket I’m having laser cut. Easier on me and less shop labor.
I was gonna order a kit from RMW for the Vanagon… You just make everything yourself now?
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
I make it all besides the adapter plate, Kennedy sells them. Old man George got a mail order kit from me. His is slightly different than a bus, but he’s doing one.
This bad boy came to my shop today. ‘56 pgsg… it’s fucking rusty!
This will show how many people open this thread… it’s not subaru swapped!
