www.germanaire.comPretty much, may be able to wiggle the body up a couple inches to weld the top of the cage and gussets. We’ve left some bars loose to accommodate.
Door bars and shock mounts finalized today.
I’m stoked with the look, fit, and feel of our cage. Ready to do more cars.
Question: I would think those down bars wouldn’t do much in a drag race application (the only way I can view things.) Will there be other bars attached to the hoop off of the main hoop? Triangulation somewhere possibly? Maybe you’re not attaching it to the frame horns for the same reason I would attach a roll bar there.

www.germanaire.comFor room and shock mounts mostly. An offroad car has to be able to carry a spare tire, cooler, jack, equipment and parts.
Most drag cars connect the B hoop to the frame horns just in front of the axles?
Pat has pictures of all the stuff hes been doing back there. Bars that drop down the frame horns and another bar that triangulate into the torsion housing.
Real nice Franz. Would you be able to bend an engine cage like the ‘Desert Digger 2’ that mooreparts used to sell? I just need the tubes bent, I can finish weld. I have measurements if needed.
Pat’s work too. Hes probably done more work than I on this.
Like this? I’m sure we could bend something up.
That’s the one! I’ll give u a call thx
Baja Mike and Pat gettin’ it on. I think we talked him into the roof scoop….going to look like hotwheels.
Did a bunch of primary welding this morning. More to come.
Baird’s fresh transaxle for the type 34.
Few from the last couple days.
Figuring upper shock mount at full squat
At full drop. That’s 16” of wheel travel at axle center, bump to bump, maxing out 930cv’s at 24 deg. both ways. LOOOOOOOOONG TRAVEL BABY!!!!!
Rear cage to torsion tie in’s. Two go down to the trans. frame horns from the rear cage loop.
The other two off the rear loop tie back into the torsion housing. Center bar of the three, pic below. Trans horn tie-in left bar. Bump stop mount right bar.
Tape on diagonal bar is where bump stop will mount.
Franz was making sparks n arcs burning in the cage earlier.
Mike has been by the last couple days fabbing up cage gussets for all the intersections around the driver/passenger area.
We will build it if it comes.
Baja Mike cage is looking legit. A few more days and I think we’ll be done.
I’m feeling a tad overwhelmed lately.
I think we’re going to have to slow the parkway work down for a few months.
I need to concentrate on some big projects.
Either that, or we need to hire a full time mechanic….but John told me not to even ask about hiring someone else 😆
Just work more Franz.. or maybe get chris to handle all the parkway stuff
