Quick update regarding the website since i have not posted about it in awhile!
There is a gallery up now! It is not fully featured (and therefore not finished), but I figure some people may still like to be able to look at past projects! I tried to make it nice and simple to navigate, but inevitably missed something simple. to access the gallery just click the link in the menu on the top of the site called Gallery with the little picture icon next to it. You might need to clear your browser cache to see the Gallery link, which google can help you with 😉 Once I get done with final exams and head home for Christmas I plan to finish the gallery up.
I want to make sure the gallery has the following things:
- Ability for KCW to upload pictures of builds to their own folders.
- Ability to swipe through images on mobile.
- Not have to load a new page every time you want to view a new picture.
- A better layout which lets people search for projects in a search bar.
- A better layout that it easier to navigate.
Feel free to let me know of any other features the old gallery had or nice features you would like to see!
I also need to make a nice location for all of the old movies, which i’m sure a lot of people have not seen before, on the site!
The white screen of death issue has not be touched as of yet, but can be fixed by refreshing the page you are on. It is almost certainly an issue with the versions of our plugins versus the versions of the software running our server.
I’ve seen some people want PM’s back, i messed around with a plugin last night that adds PM’s but it was unsatisfactory so i will keep looking for a good one.
Whenever i am on the site i try to fix style issues as i see them.
For example, Emotes posted from phone used to show up really huge, but i added some code to shrink them down to a manageable size.
Lastly, I made a band-aid solution to the frequent server crashes that appears to be working out so far! Our server restarts every 6 hours now since that seemed to be on the lower end of how long the server would stay up without crashing.
This thread is a good place to post up weird issues you see with the site so they are documented!
