Yes!!!

Here looks like as good a place as any to make my first post. I have been a motorbike racer for 26 years, motorbike wrench for 15, and motorbike shop owner for 7 but when I moved into my new shop last year that had room for a car lift I started to get addicted to VWs with a lot of thanks from many great people on here.

I got word from Travis a short while ago that he has indeed done a test blast with the car. I’m looking forward to watching him do the Lands End Hill Climb race with the bug and his bike this year.

Yes, the bug is finally a runner, the Subaru fuel injection problem nearly had my head fried but it turned out to just be a wrong year cam pully with different trigger locations for cam sensor. Next one will be air cooled. As I say about bikes to people all the time: “Stock is cock!”
That’s actually a Kawasaki BMX. I had a chance to buy a Yamaha one once and I’m still kicking my self over not buying it.

I love visitors at my shop! It’s a great pitstop for I-70, right off the Fruita exit. Always have cold beers on hand!

Yesterday I took the “Edamame Commie” out, I think it’s first drive since 1974. A test drive/shakedown turned into a solid 2 hour shred fest. I was having so much fun that I could not turn around and before I knew it I was on top of the book cliffs. Amazing car. Sofa King Fun!!

I call it Hunter Canyon road but I don’t know if that is correct but it is just east of 16 road when 16 road hits the bottom of the book cliffs. The Sarlacc trail is right off of it and some other cool new single track that they just put in last fall. The road is my favorite hill climb test road. Nice and sandy  (or snow packed). I have been lucky to not have any traffic encounters but I have got some less than pleased looks… what is a speed junky to do?! Here is a picture of my last hill climb project bike up there.
