Semi hemi heads Mid 7โs?!? JJ Berg? Haha
๐ย ended up at 7.2ย ย ๐ย I almost set it at 6.98… but thought that might be rediculous!ย ๐
WHAT COLOR SHOULD I PAINT THESE THIS TIME?????ย ๐

Gotta be John Deere green if you want it to be as reliable as a tractor!
Candy oriental bule flake would make bajamike proud.
Could you somehow spray denim….๐ค๐ค๐ค
Right on JJ. Get er done. We just got back from Florida vacation, back to reality for us and back to the VW life. Real decisions… painting tins ๐ค Iโd go bright red/orange for the Allis-Chalmer look
More green!!
We will build it if it comes.
I didn’t think I had any JD green.. but found some… stuck with what works…. ๐
3rd top end on this motor…ย ย thats twice now valve guides failed on me…ย I had a guy ask me why they don’t screw VW guides in??ย I said.. I dunno??? ๐ย So what have I done to prevent this???ย Nothing really…ย I feel like my motor is back set up like it was originally, same spacers and shit, same hemi cut heads..ย ย I thought I was lowering my compression, but now I bet my 67cc on the head was a little heavy… ๐ ๐ย So more than likely I have been running around on 8.5/1 the last year without the hemi cut heads, and not it will be back to were Eddie set it, 7.9…..
I’d like to have this up an running this weekend….ย I might have to go for a hippy dip at Orvis…. ๐ย would be a nice break in run to ridgeway. ๐

I’d a gone with Kubota orange but that’s just me…
Would be good to know what kind of head temps you are hitting, VW was having head problems when they went above 1600cc too… Sodium filled exhaust valves on type 4 heads and they still dropped seats.
Kind of weird that the intakes went first instead of the hotter exhaust. Maybe the factory tolerances weren’t so good.
If we screwed guides in a vw head we’d never be able to get them out to rebuild them, and if the head is getting hot enough to drop guides the seats can’t be far behind.
I’m gonna have to go back to driving 50mph everywhere…ย ๐ย ๐ย ๐ย ย It’s too much money to be rebuilding every year.. ๐
Maybe, I am pushing the limits a tad.. and have stepped beyond… Maybe…. I can’t keep a 2332 a live in a big camper bus that really gets used.. ๐

Iโve said it before and Iโll say it again. Oil coolers makes a world of difference especially with the high load placed on the motor in a bus. Youโre making a cooling system designed for a 1600 to cool a 2332, thatโs like a Chevy truck with a 4.3 V6 and swapping in a built 454 V8 big block and expecting the stock radiator be able to keep up. It wasnโt until I started thinking outside the box that things began falling into place with temperatures and longevity. Ditch your breast tin also and allow more cooler air into your engine bay.
Also another thing to consider if you choose to slow down is the fan speed, I would assume from 65 to 50 you will have a big drop in rpm.
What about these Kuhlspeed bolt on scoops? Donโt need to drill anything – they bolt through the slots…
Also, type 4 doghouse cooler upgrade and Venturi ring like on 75 on FI engines – been proven to lower oil and head temps… http://www.awesomepowdercoat.com
oh and L21 would have been my vote for the tin (since I know no one cares ๐
