Got Dam Jones! I have two busted ass VW engines right now myself, the 2276 in my bus and the 2054 in the 68 single cab I’m building….and mine didn’t end up with the fate that yours did.. Damn..I feel for ya..That totally sucks.. makes a dude sick to his stomach!  Ask me how i know!

Those wrist pins look super short for some reason.. wonder if that’s what it was.. What do you think it was??

My ignorance shined through.  I did not know these pistons didn’t work with buttons, and they were in my “box” of parts for the engine.  I got schooled the expensive way!!! Hopefully I just saved some poor stupid smuck like me from doing it again…. 😎  😎  fuck..  I have never thought of myself as an “engine” builder… and I definitely proved that to be true…

well, on to one of my other fucked up projects…   Gonna clean my dually up a bit again… Starting with that big ol hood!!!!  It flex’s when I lay the truck ALL the way out…. and it cracked AGAIN!!  I am trying some ALL Metal this time… 😎   Clean my tow rig up… 😎

well 5 days have gone by since I started trying to clean up the dually… I spent my weekend on it also…

The door handles had never been off the truck, with about 5 paint jobs of build up on them… so the paint was cracked around them.. so I attended to that also… I have some Aluminum units to replace these shitty plastic one’s… I am surprised hummers had such cheap handles on them…  Also fixed some shit on the roof, also fixed some cracks in my rear fenders, also fixed my lower edge on my front fenders  that I drove too low and hit with my tires.. anyway… as you can see.. one thing led to another…. and now I am painting the whole thing…. 😎

 

I want to make it all dove blue.. then add some orange to tie it to the race car and sand rail… 😎

This truck makes everybody look. EVERYBODY. One of my first trips to KCW JJ SLAMMED this thing on main street while passing another lowered truck. Not anywhere as low as JJ’s. Hahaha they made eye contact. JJ won. Everyone on main street stopped, turned, and gasped. Hahahaha one of my favorite KCW memories

I remember one night in GJ, I was at dinner with the Jones’. John bounced the front end as we were leaving the restaurant. We had everyone’s attention. Pretty awesome.

I love it that a few of you have stories of riding in the dually… Lets me know other people think that truck is as badd ass as I think it is…. 😎  It came out tit’s… Everything..  and I did it without sealer, and only two coats of good single stage…  can’t wait to get it all back together..

Gonna weld some steel to the bottom… pick it up a 1/2″ or so.. 😎

I should weigh this rig.. I know the Vin sticker says it weighs 10K pounds… 😎  I think as much or more metal was added when it was built.  I should go weigh it. 😎 😎 😎 😎
