Shocks are shimmed up with a progressive flutter stack on the compression and stiffer rebound all around.

You can see the flutter stack here with the large one against the piston and a couple small ones before another large one.

I saw Franz was doing some more shock adjusting this morning – it’s all coming together again!

JJ and Ben are working on the new UMP air cleaner this afternoon 👍🏻

Well…. We kicked it’s ass…  Ben cut up my carb box…. Franz welded it up for me.. I got my air cleaner in. at first I mounted it trying to make the 4″ tubing as short as possible.. but that is not how it works is supposed to be mounted.. so I flipped it over… I like it even better… intake is higher than any window opening… 😎  and I can still reach my battery and the burping feature is still correct. 😎 😎  I also cut out my seat tabs and moved them back.. which moved the seat back at least an inch… probably a touch more..   Took my cruiser pedal out… My damn Foot Drop makes it hard to transition from brake to gas and back.. 8-(  I told Audrey… She may have to drive!  Shit,. maybe Gretchen and Audrey drive this rig if my foot gets much worse..

Still need to get Nitrogen in my shocks, pipe it from the air cleaner to the carb box.. and do at least one axle boot thats leaking… 😎  I might put some headlights in and save the light bar for the sand rail… 😎    Keep the alll early looking rig… 😎  Oh… Some bumper ‘ets would look awesome. 😎

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

YES! She’s ready for a real drive!! Great day doing a few things for the first time while working on our race car! #1131 baby!!
I removed our thiccc rear skid plate and replaced both axle boots + put bolted on some shocks JJ found laying around… got that skid plate muscled back up there and then JJ gave me some driving lessons 😜 note to self- this car has more camber than any other vehicle I’ve driven haha

after JJ also gave it a test drive he determined the steering box is very sloppy… dug one out of the pile to replace it with this morning 👍🏻
Looking good in that beautiful sunset!

The rears  wouldn’t extend after Newbold  charged them.

We will build it if it comes.

Ahh, no bypass holes in the new pistons.  They should move with some real force.

Yeah a bypass hole sounds about right. I can hardly extend them with a ratchet strap winching them apart. I cant figure how to get the damn things disassembled so I best bring them back to you after I close up today. I can charge them up in the morning before I head out to hill climb.
