It goes without saying, but I am extremely grateful for all the help and knowledge Cole gives me on the daily. It’s  also really cool to have a community like you guys that are all super psyched on DRIVING your rigs and the support that I have going into a trip like this. KCW community really is the best, I’ll be sure to stop by on my way home ❤️

 

We got the (crappy type 4) tin back from the powder coaters yesterday and now it’s time to lace it all up! Cole is coaching me on everything that could go wrong and understanding how to diagnose problems.

I popped off the old door panels and will install the new ones tomorrow! Today we got the motor just about ready, but decided we wanted to add flaps back in for more air to the oil cooler. We’ll pick up those tomorrow from a friend and hopefully have this thing about done!

Got it back in. Type 4’s suck! Probably just because I don’t know them… kept doing stuff out of order. Ran it for like 30 sec. then noticed the 3/4 carb was overflowing. I’ll pull it in the morning and check the needle seat and bowl setting. Should be good to go after that!

My weekend fun🙄 drove this a bit this week to get some miles on it before she takes her trip. And the damn main seal went out! Dammit! So I pulled it yesterday fixed that and made a couple other tweaks. Got it back in last night, drove it a bit and parked it. Gotta go back in today and see if it sealed back up. Hopefully I’ll have this thing about wrapped. Then I can focus on my personal stuff haha

It’s kicking my ass! Haha I’m just trying to keep up. She’s trying to leave this weekend. Main seal is all sealed up! Have the carbs pretty happy now too. Now a case plug is leaking…. FUCK. Just a couple drops when you shut it off… if I get more time this week I’ll pull the motor again and jb weld over the plug… right by the oil pump in the pass side…. must be under vacuum When it’s running so it only Leaks a bit when you shut it off… always more shit to deal with…

She got a little cabinet off of Craig’s list that fits well. And best part, we didn’t have to build it! Haha surprised she hasn’t posted a pic of that. WW front door panels show up today too. She’s pretty happy with her bus

I still get a chuckle that I tried to buy this bus at Ottinger’s 90th party, and I got the; “It’s not for sale” story. Then I hear some chick bought it. I’m glad it’s loved and taken good care of.

Dual carb sync lesson the other night! I’ve been driving this to work this week. 25 min each way without an issue. Going to take it camping tonight. Then she’ll be ready to hit the road!
