Right…I’ve been trying to tell cole there is no point, gonna be throwing the 911 motor in it as soon as I can 😎
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha girl gone crazy!!!!

I got all the tin off tonight. Sending it out tomorrow for powder coating. Figure I’d pull the exhaust and heater boxes and put new seals in it to be sure there is no more exhaust leak. Really only leaking oil out of the dipstick tube boot 🙄 and the oil pressure sender. I’ll replace those and clean this up a bit and then put it back together when the tin comes back. Should be a happy camper.
jack said “ man, that must’ve had a lot of miles since you rebuilt it”
I said, nah, just every trip it has taken has been to the desert. Red dirt everywhere!!! Haha truly is and always will be a Moab bus.
anyone have recommendations on where to get an exhaust? I’ve heard you can just put a 72 exhaust on it since we don’t need any of the emissions stuff anymore. To keep it simple. Any brand better than another? Her last exhaust rusted super fast and had holes in it causing an exhaust leak
I like my Vintage Speed exhaust. All stainless, kinda pricey though.

I love the vintage speed stuff, but it’s a bit too 🤑🤑 for this bus haha
I guess I’ll just buy a stock one offline. Just don’t want it to rust out so fast…
I finally think I figured out a fix for the dipstick tube boot issue. Those new production boots always split within like 10 miles and leak a ton. Better off just duct taping it…. so I cut off the tube on the case side and made it smaller. Like 8mm tube. Matches the tube in the shroud. Now I’ll just run a fuel hose with hose clamps between the two. Should last a lot longer than the boots.
It will never work!!! Tell that Lady of yours that she needs a Sprinter camper conversion! 😉 😉 😃!!!
I’m too poor for a sprinter. And she’s not enough of a sugar momma yet to buy a sprinter;) haha besides, she loves this crusty bus. But she really wants a 911 motor. Probably will have a 911 powered bay before a sprinter haha
Are you going to trade your bay in for a sprinter rusty? I bet the dealer will take it back since it’s so new;) 😘 hahaha
Vintage paid for stuff is awesome and is where it’s at for sure…. 😎 😎 It’s a commitment for sure, and a bit of a lifestyle.. 😎

Two Bay windows on the first page! Haha
this bus is getting new brake lines and wheel bearings today. Maybe new window seals too…
this beam just took so much grease…. haha
Out with the old. In with the new.
Feels good to not have cracked brake lines 🥳Best to keep your “significant other” safe!!!!!! BUT… I dunno about some 911 6 cylinder swap… 😎

One day…. when I have cash to burn;). From what I’ve heard it’s a really sweet, reliable swap. But it’s $$$. Probably do it if she wants to restore this bus someday. New paint, rebuild the trans, 4 wheel upgraded discs. Go through everything. And then throw in the 6 cylinder😎😎
I have a friend, Porsche race shop owner, who’s had a 911 powered 72 Bus for years. I drove it once and can attest that it’s one of the best driving conversions for a Bay. Very nice, linear power without feeling too outrageous. He used to tow his 911 race car with it to the vintage races.
Emilee can tow my race car to the track;) hahaha
