Looks great Cole !
stoked to see the panels
Your a badd ass Cole… Is Steph coming on shasta too?? I think Audrey is riding shot gun with me!
Steph has work. But sounds like she will come to baker for the first night
hell ya Audrey! Can’t wait!! Going to be a blast
50 years of crap when fixing some of the camper windows! Got all but 1 fixed… need to source a shorter regulator than what I got. 4” ish arm if anyone has one. The one is stripped and doesn’t tighten all the way when you try to close it.
New Fresh air box flap seal! Hopefully keep me a bit warmer on Shasta. All the little things… almost there
I have tried to source those small window winders without much luck Cole, let me know if you find something.
I emailed a few vintage trailer supply stores… hopefully something comes up. For now it’s wired shut…
There’s an actual web site called vintage trailer supply that carries the regulators.
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
Vintage trailer supply is a no-go, even talked to them in person.
Cut the arm down?

That’s a great idea Pete! I’ll measure the screw holes today and make sure they will line up
Cole and Seth are going to be alll warm and cuddly this year… 😎

That’s what we’ve done in the past.
Make sure you get any new plastic sliders, clips, etc. that you can. Those usually crumble when pulled apart. Take one window apart first so u know what you need.
We will build it if it comes.
the less you mess with them windows the better… 😎
Haha! Always nice n cuddly! Helps keep you warm when it’s 8 degrees out!
ya… I held off messing with them… but the broken ones rattle pretty bad even with them wired shut… trying to do all the little things I’ve been putting off! No time like now.
I finally got my front door handles working nice! Soaked the mechs and ice picks in gas over night. Got them all working properly. Found a spring for one of the ice picks that was missing… Franz helped me figure out I had the wrong ice pick on the driver door making the handle stick open and almost bow the whole door out all weird. Figured out it was the wrong size of arm that pushes on the mech. I ground it down and works like a charm! Getting stuff put back together. Wood panels soon too! Hopefully Seth will come down today… said he would
different arm sizes. I have recessed base doors on this bus. So I think the handle bases are closer to the door mech. All the little details!
Left early Saturday morning for a short little shakedown run! Ended up being out there in the west desert longer than anticipated so I decided to stay the night at baker! Always so fun out there. No one out on Saturday. Bus ran great! Some small tweaks and then SST!
Fun technical section
wild horses I’ve seen out in this canyon before
muddy Django.
Cold this morning! Was fine last night… but the clouds moved out and the cold moved in! Haha
thanks wayner for showing me about this fancy wideband thingy! Gonna play with this some
Before
After
Finally done! Took a lot longer than anticipated! Woodwork is super hard! Kicked my ass! First time really doing anything with wood. Not perfect, I want to change a couple things. But for now I’ll roll with it. I’m sick of working on it haha!
thanks to pat for all the answers to my questions and for some of the panels! Helped a ton
That’s a great improvement! The paneling makes it look like it would be a lot warmer to camp in….nice work.
Nice Cole !
Ive tried and Ive tried to do the roof panels and they’ve never came out like yours. Looks great
Nice dude!!!! I like the wood window trim!
See ya tomorrow???
We will build it if it comes.
Bubba! They’re a fucking pain in the ass! I need to re do the front one. But for now I’m content. Haha should hopefully help keep some warmth in. I tried the metal stuff pat and couldn’t wrap my head around it. First try with the wood frame turned out ok. I’ll retry that sometime too. But the plywood can be reused on that panel. Just need to mess with the frame
yup. Planning on leaving SLC early in the am tomorrow
