Hell yeah, Bob let the games begin!!!!
Awesome Progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kickit in the ass Ready for welding not wasting any time looking good.
Noticed the bulkhead was white like the exterior? Thought they were all in primer? Has this been painted or is it another anomaly!! Never seen a bench Panel without upper vents!!! π
Brushed white paint on the bulkhead and rear luggage shelt. Original camper mod? I’m not sure.
The headliner looked like a riviera type. I don’t know my camper conversions well enough to say what this one is for sure. Maybe someone else can clarify?
Finished tear down today. Stripped roof and nose both are super nice and straight. Have not found any body filler yet.
We will build it if it comes.
Are any surprises expected on this one? Β It looks really solid.
^^ No surprises yet…..but…the blast booth will tell all.
Finished stripping outside of shell to day.
Few areas that will need some rust repair. Lower dog legs.
Long side outer rocker. Inner rocker to be determined.
Started dissecting cargo door rocker. Will need a new rear pass jack point, a section of cargo floor, inner/outer rocker, lower pass side rear rocker, top hat section, and some other patches in the front wheel well area.
Time for a cold one.
We will build it if it comes.
Looks great, enjoy the cold one. You deserve it. Thanks for the updated pics. Bob
So, I was joking about this going back into a Panel! Bob, what are Your plans for this restoration???!!!?!?!! π
Pat,
When you strip a bus like what is your tool of choice? Obviously a wizz wheel of some sort but what diameter discs and grit are you using?
ryans65,
I like the 7″ angle sander with 8″36 grit paper. Low speed and lean into pretty good. High speed will wear out the paper really fast and heat up the panel.
We will build it if it comes.
time to get this rig stripped the rest of the way and move into some metal work! π
Been a wild ride, but it got me here π
