Greta and I made our 800 mile trip back home on Saturday and she KILLED it with zero issues 🥳🥳🥳

She is running so so good 🥰 We’ve all said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s the people in the Volkswagen community that make it so awesome!! I am lucky to know some seriously kind people 🥰

Greta is still running AWESOME!! Something is going on with my starter, but that’s just classic Greta at this point 😂

loaded up the TL 125 and the 50 in Greta too – worked out perfectly! 😎 White Wash is cool cause there is Sand and Slickrock right by each other so there was lots of dirt bike opportunities too 😁

Greta ROMPED through the desert going to the sand dunes!!! I really should have got a video of us getting in and out of the dunes area… guess we’ll have to go back!!!

It was SO beautiful!!!! The sand and sunsets were so pretty and the stars and moon rise was incredible too 😍

On the way to and from the Sand Dunes Greta was getting pretty hot and bucking around a bit… only would happen about 40-60 miles into the drive depending on how hot out it is… got her home ok, but had Franz take a look at her. He did a leak down test on her and said she’s still at 92% – whoa what a relief 🙏🏻 He said it could be the temp sensor… so he ordered me one, plus a few other things and swapped my fuel pump, etc.. he thinks she’ll be good to go!! Thank you so much Franz!!!

I drive Greta hard!!! And she kicks ass… I don’t know a lot about the type 4 motor but I do know it has been pretty reliable for me… when I’m not smashing it on rocks 😜

I heard Greta picked up a major sponsor yesterday. 🤫

I did order some new spark plug wires, and hoses to install before the Moab trip. But she’s is fixed enough to drive this weekend if you want. I think the issue was a major cracked hose on the decel valve sucking air/running lean. I replaced that hose on Monday and switched out the head temp sensor with known good one we had.
