He must have had this shop forever because it doesn’t seem like he’s in a rush to make rent or anything. He’s done 2 interiors before mine and then a couple of Z-beds or other small projects. The nice thing is that it’s sitting inside though, especially because I’m moving out of my place in Boulder this month and have nowhere to put it!
in reply to: Coles SWR DD Pamper #47585Damn Cole, sweet setup you’ve got out there! I’ve loved seeing all yours and Emilee’s puppy pictures.
in reply to: Cole’s Corner #47584Love that leaf green!
in reply to: Dans ‘65 Tesla #47583in reply to: Dario's Projects #47471Might want to consider doing a bay window gas tank because this thing is going to be thirsty! 😅
in reply to: Willy’s Syncro Doka Jagdwagen #47449Thanks JJ, I think I’m gonna fish with that car on Samba before it gets the Bring a Trailer treatment.
Franz, do you guys have any kind of relationship with Burley after doing the Ultimate Syncro? I’d like to get their trailing arms for this but they want you to send in your cores first and can’t really decommission it in our driveway right now, so I was wondering if they might send you a set before cores. Or maybe a Parkway Project swap?
in reply to: Dan’s boosted oval #47448Hey Dan, I’ve always had a good experience with Intercity Lines.
More expensive than someone like Montway, but easily makes up for it in the lack of headache from all their bs.
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #47447Haha right Franz! The storage thing is nice though since I wouldn’t have a place to put it right now. Still, hoping that this won’t actually take another year.
in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #47418Bittersweet! Congrats Jesse! Hope you were able to get what you wanted for it. Lots of good memories in that bus, I’m sure.
in reply to: Willy’s Syncro Doka Jagdwagen #47416Still trying to track down metal for this thing. I’ve had people point me towards a few sources but still don’t have anything in hand. I guess there are lots of small differences in panels between a vanagon and doka.
It’s always fun getting to see your own car on the road, right?
I also was trying to find some history on this thing and came across these pictures of it in Ontario. The plate on the front would definitely explain the dents in the nose and the air horns correlate to some caulking on the roof.
I really wish this guys shades were still in the truck… the whole outfit just screams, “yeah, I fuck.”
in reply to: Willy’s Syncro Doka Jagdwagen #47415Not too much going on with this one, just minor stuff here and there. Using it a lot. I’m not sure if I did this with a tree branch or if some Boulderite didn’t like the diesel and drew on it with their key, either way it sucks… probably the least of my problems with the body though.
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #47412Just to update the thread, these are the last photos I took.
Actually decided against using the NLA floor because I didn’t want to ship a big ass piece of laminate from Europe and it just looks a little dark to me. I actually went with a hospital floor material from Mexico. Cheap and really durable.
Last I saw it, minimal progress… and a nearly dead battery 😒
This is the other most recent one he’s done. Back in for final touches.
in reply to: Brent’s 66 SO42 Body resto! #47411Huh, well there ya go. Nice. Still a severe lack of photos in here! Would be nice to see this SWR beauty.
in reply to: Early Westy Sub Hatch Interior install.. PGSG 58 #47410Cool pattern. Looks like it already has some curtains? Or is Corporate going to have a hand in this build too?
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #47409Salt to the wound when Dario’s bus is ready to go before mine…
